thank you guys for your hints, but i ve decided as i m no tech NOT to put my hands on that thing i ve found a very good tech here in germany and i ve talked to him this afternoon and he immediately said that he s got some polys not long ago for fixing and meanwhile he knows them pretty well............

Megavoice -- replacing ageing electrolytic caps in the power supply can only be a good thing. As others have noted above, replacing caps in the audio signal path can affect the the sound and character of the instrument so that's up to you. Doing this might be regretted later... I did just that on one of my Mini's and it never did sound the same again. Always replace the electrolytics in the power supply, yes... but all the others I would leave... unless they are obviously leaking. It can really make a 'Great' sounding synth sound jus...

Thank you, Keith, up there, mainly for the first 3 years of the '70ies when I rubbed down the tapes as a teeny till they became transparent, listening to all ELP's GREAT records. It`s allso sad to me as for the others to see what can happen to people in a sudden. Hope I don`'t end up like this.........
