Re: Grandmother LFO rate knob
Sweetwater was nice enough to send me a 2nd Grandmother to make sure there was an issue with the one that I was originally shipped. After testing out two different ones, this seems to be a design choice at this point since both instruments performed exactly the same. So, at least part of the mystery...

Re: Grandmother LFO rate knob
I just completed the knob calibration and the functionality seems to be the same. So, I'm guessing that is just the knobs normal operation. If anyone has any insight otherwise, please let me know.

Grandmother LFO rate knob
I recently just received a new Moog Grandmother and I noticed something a little odd with the rate knob that I wanted to see if this was the norm for others. The rate seems to max out at the 9 mark on the knob. There is no further change between 9 and 10. Is this considered normal or is something ou...

Re: Sound when turning on LP Stage2
Okay, I'm glad it's a 'normal' thing. I think I never really noticed it before since I tend to turn my amp on last. I usually turn my analog synths on and let them warm up first. I never thought about it as a boot up sound. It is kind of awesome in that sense.

Sound when turning on LP Stage2
Okay, I may be crazy but I don't remember my LP making any sort of sound when you first turn it on. It sounds like one of the oscillators briefly makes a sound before the LP initializes itself. Is this normal? I've checked my outlets with a tester and ground is all nice and happy.

Re: Little Phatty Editor costs Money. Seriously?
Hi there! I just tested those parameters here, it's working fine. i'm on win 7 64 bits, ableton live latest beta version It may be something with the OSX version of the plugin. I did a bunch of testing and my LP Stage II is receiving the proper CC values from other software but this little plugin d...

Re: Little Phatty Editor costs Money. Seriously?
My biggest problem with giving money to Soundtower is their support is terrible. I found a major bug with their Mopho software and it took them several months to even reply to me and that was after having someone from Dave Smith give them a nudge.

Re: Songs w/ Little Phatty
While there's a bit more in there than just the Little Phatty, here's a new track I just put out that has the Little Phatty, a Casio VL-1, Korg Monotron, DSI Mopho and more:

Oh, I was lucky that I could talk my wife into letting me keep the Stage II. I think I'll have to be satisfied with what I have for now but I do have plenty of toys....er instruments.

Re: How my Slim Phatty evolved into a Little Phatty Stage 2
David, I have a strange feeling that it's the power supply. It's amazing how much that sort of thing matters. The Slim Phatty doesn't sound bad at all but the Little Phatty does seem to sound better. It definitely has more head room and the synth seems much more responsive to the keys on the Little ...

How my Slim Phatty evolved into a Little Phatty Stage 2
It almost feels like a Pokemon tale looking at that title (if you even know what that is). Here's the deal... Back at the end of November, I ordered a Slim Phatty from Sweetwater and was told it’d be a while before they’d get some in. Around the first of the year, I finally received my Slim Phatty a...

A little one hour composition
Every week I do one of these as an exercise to hone my production skills. With this one, I used nothing except my Slim Phatty. Some of the percussion sounds were tweaked a bit in Ableton but everything was originally generated from the SP.

Re: SP - how far out of tune is yours when it's cold?
Unfortunately this unit has a bit of a faulty encoder on the value knob. Shaggy, I'm curious - what was the fault with the encoder? The encoder was kind of flaky but mostly in the counterclockwise direction. Sometimes it wouldn't register a click at all and sometimes one click would register twice....
