FYI, the fix is in... annoyingly unresponsive MIDI interface box.... now fixed, and the XL is happily communicating with the Editor application.

I picked my XL up from Analogue Haven on the 12/28, life has not been the same since
It's S/N # 40, which I consider oddly fortunate as the XL is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Mini Moog !
