Re: Stuck Notes

I had stuck notes using DIN MIDI and posted about it probably nearly a year ago (?) One issue I found was quality of power supply - the circuit in the studio was not good. Changing the circuit the Keyboard (and SP) was connected to removed a lot of stuck note issues. However like you I settled on do...

Re: Mike Bucki current status

A couple years ago I sat as a juror in a trial of a group of people that did pretty much what is suggested above. The charges were unlawful imprisonment and robbery, among others. Interesting. Can you post the County/City, State, and Case number? Was this a civil case? I'd like to take a look at it...

Re: Slim Phatty - Serious Tuning Problems

Lodge a service call about it. I had a similar problem with one of my SPs, it just wouldn't keep calibration and could be out quite severely (25 cents or more) as I progressed over an octave. Amos & Co worked out that it was a simple repair - which fixed the problem perfectly, and now it keeps i...

Re: Slim Phatty Display Imperfection ?

I also have 2 SPs, both have a small gap, maybe 1mm, between screen protection and edge. Only thing that bothers me about that is dust getting in, so I always keep them covered when not in use.

Re: Slim Phatty tuning drift

However, how does this work if you are playing live? I can't imagine too many scenarios where you would always be able to warm up the synth for 30 mins or more. This is exactly what I've been pondering lately. One solution could be to plug the SP in back stage to start it warming up. It doesn't nee...

Re: Slim USB question ...

The answer to your first question is the USB interface is only for connecting to a computer. You can still use a USB midi keyboard to control the SP, but your USB midi keyboard must also be plugged into the same computer. So this probably answers your second question - the SP USB port isn't intended...

Re: SP responding to Sustain (CC64)?

Is there a way to make the SP respond to Sustain messages (CC64) from my external controller, a Roland AX-7? EMWhite is correct, it won't respond to 64. Page 67 of the manual lists the CCs it will respond to: 1, 3-5, 6, 7, 9-11, 15,16, 18, 19, 21-31, 33, 36, 53, 65, 68, 69, 74, 75, 77, 88, 90, 91, ...

Re: Please help with some CP-251 + LP Stage II CV/GATE patch

too bad Moog didn't think about these things beforehand. I'm pretty sure there are ways to build things so that "wrong patching" does not harm the instrument. Don't worry too much, I've done some pretty silly patching in my time and haven't blown anything up yet. If you know in the first ...

Re: Slim Phatty tuning drift

I've found that the tuning won't be stable after only 15 minutes. Generally it's pretty good after an hour, and after two there's at most a drift of one or two cents which is taken care of by autotune. Of course this varies depending on the temperature in your studio, we've had unseasonal cold weath...

Re: VCA automation and analog synths

You can to some extent overcome stepping by sending the offending CV via a slew limiter. I've resorted to that before.

Re: Happy Friday, here's an OS UPDATE for the SLIM PHATTY :)

I've been able to load my presets saved by OS 3.0.3 into 3.0.4 using Sysex Librarian without any issues. I was doing it via USB, and I have the timing set a bit slower in the preferences. I didn't try your sysex dump though.

Re: Slim Phatty A Semitone Sharp?

60.00 is correct. 60.12 is just an example in the manual for if you wish to set auto-tune to tune to a different pitch, e.g. you're playing with a band and everyone is a bit sharp always.

Re: Slim Phatty A Semitone Sharp?

In the master menu, go to Fine Tune, then select AUTO.
Now, don't play any notes for at least 15 seconds and then watch the magic begin... :)

Also, the slim needs a while to warm up. If you leave fine tune set to auto then whenever you're not playing it ( at least 15 secs pause ) it re-tunes itself.

Re: New Hardware controller for Moog Slim + Little Phatty

Novation zero and behinger BCR/BCF2000 are the cheap way to go. I got a used BCF for next to nothing. (snip) Well supported by an online community. Relatively cheap build quality compared to the high end models mentioned, but it's 1/4 the cost and my unit has not failed me once yet. +1 for the BCF....
