Re: Moog One SOURCE Requests
It could either be multiple Random Number Generators (like you have above) or, I'd be fine with a single RAND-VALUE as long as it delivers a unique value for each and every instance that it is read. You're right. One single RNG can actually handle all that since it is reset - per key. Not sure why ...

Re: Moog One SOURCE Requests
A few random number generators. i.e. RNG1, RNG2, RNG3, RNG4, RNG5. Each time you stuck a key, new set of numbers is generated. So it's not a S&H LFO, but an actual random number generator that remains fixed value for the time the voice is being played. They are polyphonic, so in reality there ar...

Re: Faulty TI chips in Voyager Old School?
To the OP: As an owner of Old School (serial No 500) i can confirm this problem is present there as well. I already had two malfunctions in the unit. Luckily i fixed them the same day. But that's because i was given access to schematic which still isn't avail to the public. So unfortunately you will...

Thanks!
The PWM enable/disable comes useful for Performer owners as well.

Voyager Old School modifications
http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b528/DonSolaris/Various/m.jpg Feel free to ask if you need any assistance, though i think the manual is pretty straight forward. I have designed following modifications for the Old School: -- Filter Pole selector (1,2,3,4 poles) -- VCO PWM enable/disable option f...

Re: Interesting model D / Voyager comparision
Damn. I like that old VCF/VCA sound more than all the advanced features. Still can't decide should i touch my virgin Voyager and go with modifications or simply buy a Mini.MC wrote:Yes I did test with cutoff wide open and VCF env depth applied. It doesn't get the same high end sheen of the Minimoog.

Re: Interesting model D / Voyager comparision
The same with all three Voyagers here. Thanks. It has been known that the model D with the filter wide open possesses a top end sheen that the Voyager is lacking. I wonder is difference that big once you apply 20% of VCF env depth on Voyager. Have you tested it that way as well? I think they should...

Re: Interesting model D / Voyager comparision
Yes. Nice to see you here, Don! Cheers! Here's why i asked. The Voyager that i work on, in order to open the filter, you can not just fully set the Cutoff knob to max. You have to set Filter Envelope amount to 20% (filter envelope attack=0, sustain=max). At that point, the filter is fully open . It...

By that - did you mean setting the Cutoff knob to the max and Filter Env amount to 0?MC wrote:until you open the filter all the way.

Re: Post your Old School serial number!
At that point of time this was indeed the last OS and there were no plans for building more. I know it for a fact because i was there in queue and had to actually wait several months to get the last unit. It took a year or so when they decided to continue the production due to demand. Not because of...
