Re: Any Mother-32 Questions?
looking in the manual for the mother 32 it looks like the midi implementation is much simpler and i've got a feeling i'll be out of luck with the mother and ewi combo... si It actually looks fairly simple. Plug a MIDI cable from the EWI into the M32, assign your preferred CC to the "Assign&quo...

Re: Any Mother-32 Questions?
How smooth can we expect the MIDI CC to CV to be? I would want to use a breath controller to control the filter cutoff. The M-32 manual doesn't say anything about CC smoothing (my Little Phatty aliases/crackles with MIDI).

No, you can't have my prized 8-track tape of Switched-On Bach.

Great. Can we have Wendy Carlos's Modular next? The variety of timbres in her recordings is still amazing.

Re: LP Stage II with a Yamaha WX5 Wind Controller
I've played my LP with an Akai EWI4000s wind controller. I also own a WX5. For basic control you can set the WX5's dip switches to "keyboard control" which, IIRC, sends out MIDI volume (CC#7) either along with or instead of MIDI breath (CC#2). Very few synthesizers support breath control n...

Re: Theremini?
I am very puzzled why they didn't also put a gate output on it, that would make it a much more useful CV controller. Probably to meet the price point. Absence of gate doesn't surprise me, but no volume CV might be limiting (though I realize this is an entry-level product and I still want it so I'll...

Re: Little phatty + DAW
I was just doing this in FL-Studio. Just send the LP the correct MIDI CCs (I drew a spline in an FL automation clip) and it's more than willing to comply.
Filter cutoff is CC 19 and Filter resonance is CC 21, BTW.

Re: Amos: LP/SP Firmware Suggestions
Wish list? User-reassignable CCs. My EWI4000s wind controller outpus CCs 2, 5, 7 and 11 but I want to control the LP filter on 19. I'd like to not have to use my computer (current solution) or buy a MIDI remapper box (> $100). Or, possibly simpler, make CC#2 assignable to one or more CCs since it's ...

Re: Freq box to control pitch???
There is a small pitch to MIDI converter that may do what you're looking for: http://www.petersontuners.com/index.cfm?category=149 I've never tried one though. I got one of those when they first came out and it's a surprisingly handy little device. Since bass notes are slow frequencies they recomme...

Re: Slim Phatty or Radias
The next time you make music put the Radias in the closet and see if you miss it. If you do, then don't get rid of it.

Re: slim or little phatty? what would you choose?
Little Phatty. Since you're new, you can plug in headphones and be synthing immediately right out of the box . The controls are already set up to do everything intended. If you get a module you will also need to get a controller, and not all controllers will be mapped to the exact functions you need...

Re: MIDI setups: Little Phatty with Alesis Nanosynth
Reaper? http://www.reaper.fm/ And lots of experimentation. It's shareware. I don't use it since I need notation (the one thing it seems to lack). I use this USB-to-MIDI on Vista (and it works on my ancient WinME laptop as well). I really like that the plugs say "Connect to MIDI In" and &qu...

Re: Modulation capability?
I play EWI4000s (Akai's wind controller) and can wholeheartedly recommend the LP. Make sure the patch is set to play legato (and your wind controller is outputting CC#7-Volume) and it's surprising how well the LP stock patches respond without any special programming. That said, rerouting of CCs must...
