Re: Just played a Roland Gaia at the store

I played one at the local music shop and I have to agree it does sound pretty empty. Out of all the sounds I ran through I found a few that were interesting, but this synth would definitely limit my style. I think the SH201 is way cooler, and that also has a D-beam.

Re: how many Voyager-sounds?

An instrument may be used as a toy but i think it would be wrong to assume that an instrument is a toy just because you don't use it as such. Playing, composing, whatever you do with it is fine. Toys are instruments for fun are they not? No need to get into semantics....

Re: how many Voyager-sounds?

Alright analog prophet, the VL-tone ain't a toy. Respect our instruments. Let's not discriminate. haha

Re: Amplifiers

I posted a topic like this a while ago, and i ended up getting a used bass cab and head for $500. It sounds amazing for the lowend. I'd say its a seven out of ten for the highs though, but i'm alright with that because some of those frequencies feel like my ears are going to burst! So I would advise ...

So i ended up getting a Carvin BRX 4x10 speaker cab with tweeter and a SWR 350 bass head together for 500. it will suit me for now, its better than a fender practice amp!

i got it from my local music go round and the guy plugged in a SWR 15" sub with tweet on top of what i bought and WHOA! i was ...

haha i got the cp-251 rebate, but let me tell you guitar center tried to bleep me out of it as hard as they could. bait and switch deal. NEVER back order anything from that place! kept saying my order had come in, but it hadn't- come to find out they'd had some at the store that they "misplaced". so ...

so a bass amp with two 10"s and a tweeter would probably serve me on the low end. i've been eyeing a used backline 2 10 cab with tweeter and a beringher ultrabass head, i'm going to try it out, see if it's suitable.

sir nose, is the issue wattage output? maybe if i got the KC 550 it would be better suited for live performance with it's 180 watts? or does the sound just go to bleep when you crank it, that'd be lame since they are pricey amps.

recommendations for amplifer for my LP?

So i've been playing my LP out of a fender guitar practice amp, and I neeeed to get the right gear. I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions that will work for live performance/small gigs, with a reasonable price range. I'm probably going for used too. Is a specific keyboard amp a must ...
