Re: CV output controlling modular equipment

Always a good idea to have a couple of buffered mults in your modular. I got my cv out modified LP last week and it's been non-stop fun with my 6U eurorack system. The passive mults are simply not enough for all situations, little phatty or no little phatty. My more immediate future eurorack purchas...

Re: moog and mfb?

Well, that has not been my experience at all, the CV inputs on my LP fine, haven't had any real issues. However, the MFB had issues with gate level everywhere i used it. Glad to hear that it's working well for you. I had the same gate problem using the LP with my Doepfer A-198 module as with my MFB...

Re: moog and mfb?

hi there, does anybody know if the LP is CV-compatible with the mfb-gear? Simple answer: No. The LP inputs won't be CV or gate-compatible with MFB gear (or most other analogue synthesizer gear) out of the box. My MFB SEQ-02 didn't track especially well and the gate wouldn't trigger the LP. The gate...

Re: Moog Slim Phatty

Thanks jeepo. I think I read somewhere on this forum that the phatty tracks at slightly less than 1v/oct (.98v/oct?) and that one can use an external pot to calibrate the pitch tracking. If anyone has detailed instructions on how to do make the external CV input track with 1v/oct it would make my li...

Re: Moog Slim Phatty

Looks like you can get by without an S-Trig for gating, although my other modulars don't need 5v to gate them, usually about 1.5v gets the job done. That's what it says in the LP keyboard manual as well though. I have eurorack modules that put out 5v gate and none of them work on the LP keyboard ga...

Re: Moog Slim Phatty

what problems are you talking about? im curious As far as i know, the new moog little phatty control voltage input is still not 1v/Oct and the gate input only accepts s-trigger. This makes it pretty useless for integrating with pretty much any analogue modular synth setup on the market. I'm not sur...

Re: Moog Slim Phatty

I think that the new model might appeal to a lot of people. The addition of a MIDI Thru port is nice and decreased weight is a godsent too. I'm not getting one personally though. The same problems i have with my keyboard little phatty remain on this model and i'd rather concentrate on my other analo...

Re: delay for LP?

I use an Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy with my LP Stage II and it does everything i want. I'm sure the Deluxe Memory Boy is even better. For me, it was the best choice for the money.

Re: Light weight plastic version of Little Phatty Stage?

Since I'm clearly the only one who thinks that the Moog LP is too heavy, let's turn the question around then:
What's the advantage of having a metal chassi the way the Moog LP Stage has?

Re: CV scale problem - what will fix it?

Thanks again theglyph. The trimmers are surface mount so they should be installed by Moog technicians whom can also properly tune it. Do new trimmer pots need to be installed?? I won't solder on surface mount trim pots, but adjusting existing ones would be a different matter for me. Sending my LP to...

Re: CV scale problem - what will fix it?

Thanks for a quick answer theglyph! The LP Stage I & II's CV input can be made V/Oct with the addition of several trim pots and some tuning. Cool. Where are these trim pots located? Will input from the MIDI port and keyboard still be properly scaled if this is adjusted? As for the gate input, I'...

CV scale problem - what will fix it?

I know that there are a couple of threads involving this subject already but i haven't seen any clear answers, so i'm creating a new thread and hoping that this question will be answered once and for all for everyone's benefit. I have trouble with the CV input on my Moog LP Stage II. The CV doesn't ...

Re: Light weight plastic version of Little Phatty Stage?

I would agree that whining about the weight of a hammond organ would be silly but fretting about a 22 lbs instrument with only about 2 lbs of actual parts that do anything useful feels far from unrealistic. If a Hammond had a similar ratio of weight-to-useful parts, i'm sure people would complain ab...

Re: help with keyboard gate and modular

I have a similar problem getting the LP gate to trigger properly from my MFB SEQ-02 sequencer module (which is a bit useless since the LP doesn't use standard CV levels) and my Behringer A-198. I gave up already, but if anybody has an answer or a possible solution to what can be done to make interfa...
