Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP

I hate to say it, but I sold my LP. However, it was for a Moog cause - I got the Sound Studio 2 bundle with DFAM and Subharmonicon. I had earlier traded my Micro for a Sirin (which I still have), which meant I no longer had a Moog keyboard. Fortunately, a Grandmother Dark joined my stable and I rea...

Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP

Wow it’s been 14 years since I last posted! Since then I’ve quit drinking. And the Moog lineup has totally changed! Programming the Little Phatty as a relaxation exercise seems kind of weird. My one’s been all around the world a few times in planes and tour buses, had the knobs replaced four times, ...

Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP

It's been too long! Tonight shall be another night in. I've been using the noise source with a low amount to colour sounds that I hold down for a longish time, makes it all sound old and messed up, very very cool. Will do more of that!

Re: vangelis brass on the LP?

Nah you'll have way more luck using the Arturia plugin and a controller with aftertouch, the LP can't make that sound very convincingly. Like JWaltman just illustrated, you can make some brass sounds, but they don't sound like a CS80. Damn I'd love a CS80

Re: First gig with Phatty....or so I thought...Major Bug!!!

I've platyed venues in europe without grounded power and I haven't experienced this. Sounds to me like it's your unit man, if mine did that I'd have taken to it with a baseball bat!

Re: LP os 2.1 updates and issues, are the problems fixed yet

The only issues with updating that I've read about and experienced myself have been errors with transfering the update into the Little Phatty. This is a problem with the midi interface you have and it's easily fixable with the right midi interface. I wouldn't worry.

Re: What kind of amplifier works best with LP?

I think there are a wide range of options depending on what you want it to sound like and what you use it for. If you want it to do a little of everything then a full range PA style setup or keyboard amp is the best because it does little to colour the tone. However, I use mine for bass and love run...

Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP

Oh yeah, you're right! Cool. Actually, I'm only just discovering the s + h and the noise mods added in the OS update (or maybe they were always there?). In any case, wow! A little bit of reasonably high speed sample and hold can make a melodic sound a little dirty and messed up, I love it! Both thos...

Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP

Sounds great!

I've had a bit of a breakthrough with programing the LP to sound warmer and more 'vintage analog'. I've found turning the oscs really low and cranking up a bit of overdrive adds a bit of noise and other artifacts to the sound, I'm really loving it!

Three to four years in and no wear on my mod wheel at all. I wouldn't worry about that man!

Re: A glass of red wine, an evening in with the Moog LP

Oh man, a lab coat sounds perfect! I need one of those for these evenings in with the LP 8) Tonight I've been experimenting with the filter again, running guitar (my lovely fender strat) through the audio in and running audio out into my Carr Mercury guitar amp. Getting some really cool sounds using...
