Re: Voyager Raw OSC vs LP Raw OSC
I agree, the sound of a fixed osc tone can all be shown in an oscilloscope. A saw wave with slow reset or a bump in the ramp slope affects the sound. In which case the Voyager saw fails miserably - slow reset and not a straight line. The square also has slow edges which indicates that something is ...

Re: Voyager Raw OSC vs LP Raw OSC
Don't the original Tribute, Stages, and Slim's all have slightly different sounds? Not sure if I've read that the filter was slightly different or something else. Anyway, I have an Old School and a Tribute if that's worth anything.
Different sounds as in different patches, I'm sure.. The Voyager ...

Voyager Raw OSC vs LP Raw OSC
So yeah.. couldn't find comparisons online anywhere. I mean there are dozens of discussions on LP vs Voyager, and that's great.. but say you have both filters open and same ENV settings, raw SAWs and so on.. are there differences in sound?
I owned 2 Voyagers, never had an LP to compare them to ...

Re: CV Voltage Tolerance
Oh indeed, a simple 9v battery could do as well. :D
The idea with reducing the resistance and increasing sensitivity sounds great as well!
My main concern was of course damaging the components with short 10v bursts, but I guess voltages around 10V will not really be very harmful.

Re: CV Voltage Tolerance
Thank you so much for clarifying and testing it out varice.
Unfortunately I couldn't do it myself this weekend for technical reasons.
Just out of curiosity, what did you amplify the CV signal with? Or did you use a module that outputs a higher voltage by default? (I know some modulars do).
Thanks ...

CV Voltage Tolerance
Hi,
I wanted to formulate this in a general way, although the original question was in regards to the MF 101
Let's say I would like to achieve a full sweep (on Filter cutoff or any other parameter for that matter) via CV with the physical knob set near or full counterclockwise.
Suppose I amplify ...

Re: Trouble with CV!
SteveD thank you very much for the info(s).
However I have a question. Let's say I would like to achieve a full sweep via CV with the physical knob set near or counterclockwise.
Let's say I amplify the CV signal (with the common peak being 5v) to a value of f.e. 8-12V
Would there be a risk of ...

LFO OUT to GATE IN
Hello brothers and sisters in Moog.
Have a small question regarding the GATE CV IN on a Voyager.
I'm fairly new to CV control, so the question might sound dumb:
Does a GATE IN require a steady on/off signal, or could I trigger it from my MF-103's LFO OUT?
The idea is: as long as the MF-103 outputs ...
