REQ: Sub Phatty Desktop
Seeing the (K)ARP Odyssey desktop, It occurred to me that I'd really love to see a Sub Phatty Desktop. I could even live without the patch buttons and the shift functions, just WYSIWYG kind of approach. It could be priced somewhere between the Minitaur and the Sub Phatty (keyboard). Seems like a nat...

Re: WNAMM2016: Korg Minilogue
Some problems reported with "click sounds", display too small, slim keys (as wide as mini keys just longer) and not a really unique sound. Of-course it's a nice analog entry level product for sub $700. But... IMHO... you may quickly find it's limitations. It's more about a tough crowd to ...

Re: WNAMM2016: Korg Minilogue
Other than that it sounds (pun intended) like an interesting piece because of the built-in sequencer. If it can be used for modulation like the one on the DSI Prophet 8, then that would be pretty cool. You can record up to four different parameters through it's motion sequencer, you can also choose...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!
Don't do too much "pure" music these days, but I thought that I'd post two short pieces anyway: Monumental is a multi-track recording of the Studio Electronics Boomstar 5089. This is a desktop synthesizer with discrete components (MIDI and digital LFO though) and a transistor ladder filter...

Re: New ARP Odyssey synthesizer!
Some months ago a guy had shown a youtube demo of two golden/black Oddys and they sounded awsome and unbeatable. Please note that several Oddys, especially the black, probaly had been upgraded and this might be the reason why they might sound very much better. And referring again to my tech he told...

Re: Moog Matador
Considering that the Moofest VIP packages mentioned an instrument, and considering the prices of those VIP packages, it seems possible that it could be a successor to the Minitaur.

Re: New ARP Odyssey synthesizer!
Just read the Korg page and am disturbed by this "Korg is also proud to welcome Mr David Friend as our chief advisor on the Odyssey. David Friend established ARP Instruments, Inc. along with Alan Robert Pearlman and is a past president of ARP Instruments, Inc. He was also the lead designer of ...

Re: COMING NAMM 2014
I spotted some interesting difference between Sub Phatty Oscillators and Sub 37 Oscillators. On Sub Phatty the range is from 0 to 12 (same with sub osc and noise) and on 37 the range is 0 to 10. Is it something worth mentioning? Well obviously. The Sub 37 is 2 louder. They were going to have it go ...

Re: COMING NAMM 2014
Waldorf uses the term "paraphonic" for their synths Rocket and Pulse2. Maybe, the Sub37 (cool name!) is duophonic but also additionally paraphonic? No, it just means that you will be able to play OSC1 and OSC2 individually. I.e. it's two note paraphonic. Duophonic would be an incorrect te...

Re: COMING NAMM 2014
I have to say that while I love what you (Moog Music) have done with this synth, I'm a bit concerned about it's user friendliness and sense of overview of what's going on. The Sub Phatty strikes a great balance, imho, of knobs/functions on the panel while still retaining some air in the deisgn. It's...

Re: Winter NAMM 2014 ..rumours?
Hmmm, that's exciting! ~ Do you mean the "unreleased" instrument that Engineer VIP pass holders build? If it's "unreleased" at Moogfest - it doesn't make sense they would be unveiling it at NAMM 3-4 months earlier. There has been mentions of a new instrument related to Moogfest,...
