Re: Voyager XL Firmware Update Questions

Thanks Rudi. I used my better MIDI interface and now I have installed your v3.6 XL firmware from 2017 successfully. I used to have v3.6 firmware from 2010. I will now investigate whether this newer/reinstalled firmware has fixed my signal output issue or if I need to get the hardware looked at. Than...

Voyager XL Firmware Update Questions

Hi there, After trying to solve a signal output issue: Voyager XL - mono output only for some filter modes https://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=33516 I thought I would try and reinstall/update to the latest firmware for my Voyager XL. My Voyager XL has always had firmware v3.6 from 20...

Re: Voyager XL - mono output only for some filter modes

Sorry I haven't been active in a while about this issue. I still have the problem and am looking at getting the unit looked at. Will keep you updated on any findings.

Audio Cable Length

Guitarists and bassists online are always talking about signal loss or interference in (unbalanced) instrument cables over longer run lengths (often above 20ft), apparently because passive guitars and basses are considered high impedance devices. Since synths are line level devices, do we have to wo...

Re: Polychaining: The Phatt Bastard Project

I ended up getting the electrical engineer to have another look at both of my Slims and he hunted down/replaced/re-soldiered various shorts or damaged components (different issues for each unit) and now I can run my units perfectly again! Just getting some replacement timber sides made for the stick...

Unfortunately, this is not the right time for me... but please provide some feedback if you decide to order.

Re: Little Phatty SE2 Replacement Side Panels

I need to replace my side panels too.

I found these ones:

Not exactly Moog Walnut but might still be cool.

Whatever I end up doing, I need to accommodate the CV Output Mod too..

Ah yes, I could try reinstalling the firmware - good idea! I've also contacted Moog Music tech to get their thoughts.

Will keep ya updated..

Re: Voyager XL - mono output only for some filter modes

spacing should have a dramatic effect, when you pan it if you enable the visual feedback in the display, can you see the values changing as you turn the knob? ps set filter cutoff to around noon Yea I have the visual feedback on in the display and the values do change, but there is no difference in...

Re: Voyager XL - mono output only for some filter modes

I just messed with mine for a bit: -spacing -filter cutoff -amount to filter knobs all interact significantly, and I could lose one stereo channel easily by adjusting them. hopefully that's all it is? good luck! Thanks for taking the time to run tests and provide tips - I appreciate it! I have been...

Re: Voyager XL - mono output only for some filter modes

Cool thanks - I'll experiment with the filter spacing control for the patches in which it happens and report back.

Voyager XL - mono output only for some filter modes

Hi there, I have noticed recently that when using my Voyager XL in stereo (using 2x jack outputs, or headphones from the headphone output), the signal will cut out to one side only depending on the filter mode (dual LP = one side only, LP/HP = both sides). I understand different filter modes give a ...

Re: MF-104M How slow is tap tempo meant to go?

Sounds like you found a solution. I use a midi clock with mine. It works well. I'm interested in using MIDI clock too. Have you typically been able to get very long delay lengths (whole note etc.) via MIDI clock? I'll have to have a play around.. For a live band application, I was thinking tapping ...

Re: MF-104M How slow is tap tempo meant to go?

Cheers for your help stiiiiiiive. After further testing, yes there seems to be a lower limit where the tapping doesn't register as a delay time, however your idea to tap while in short mode and then switch to long mode got me the delay lengths I'm looking for. Interesting sound for vocals though.. I...

MF-104M How slow is tap tempo meant to go?

Hey there, I've got this idea to use one of my two MF-104M's as a vocal delay, routed from an Aux send on my mixing desk. I want whole note length delays (i.e. one delay per bar) to match my VST/DAW delays, but in a live performance situation. I'm having trouble tapping the delay time this slow.. Is...
