Re: Next 1.5 update, when ?

The flagship ain't paying the bills. I actually think (based on some hearsay) that the development and production cost of the Moog One is still not covered by the turnovers from sold units. So, making apps and merch is what Moog needs to do, unfortunately. At this price point, what were they thinki...

Re: Next 1.5 update, when ?

Has Moog Music Inc closed down due to COVID-19 perhaps? Leaving only the automated answering service, and forum on? Seems like it's been abandoned for over a year now... So, has history repeated itself, with the overambitious Moog One having sunk the company, much like the Memorymoog did back in the...

Re: Missing Bob

COVID-19 has been hard on everyone, including small companies like Moog Music Inc.
But that doesn't excuse everything.

Re: Can't get support from Moog

Moog Music is far from one of the biggest companies in the field. It's a very small company owned by the workers. And with the current situation, they're probably very restricted in how they do business. They are dedicated people, passionate about what they do. So I don't blame them for not respondi...

Re: v.1.31 freeze

I remember clearly when I bought my brand new Moog Voyager Old School, how I felt looking at the flimsy cardboard box that it came in from the Moog factory. I couldn't believe how cheap that box was considering the price of the synth. Luckily, the synth itself wasn't damaged, but only by pure luck. ...

Re: Moog Extended Warranty

Sorry to hear about your troubles. But since this COVID-19 craziness, I guess Moog Music might perhaps be closed temporarily, because it's not an essential service?

Re: Memorymoog reset

DiscoE, as mentionned before, it could be any number of things. Logic gates, address decoders, etc etc... At this point, only an experienced tech could possibly find the problem(s). And even then, perhaps not. Anyway, I agree with Markyboard because, indeed, it sure looks like it goes beyond what ca...

Re: My first Moog, no sound please help!

Hello and welcome. Congrats on getting a superb analog Moog synth. Make sure that the OSC1 and OSC2 lights are ON in the mixer section and that the Filter Cutoff knob is all the way up and that the Resonance knob is all the way down. Then make also sure that the SUSTAIN knobs in both Envelope Genera...

Re: Memorymoog reset

I don't know about wrapping EEPROMs in aluminium foil, but a few years ago I was working on another synth (replacing keyboard felt strip on a Korg DW8000) and had the synth locking up on me for no apparent reason. I discovered that the ambient light shining on the EPROM chips was strong enough to ma...

Re: Memorymoog reset

Concerning testing RAM chips, a quick and easy way is to check for hotter than normal chip casings when the power in on for a few minutes. It's not infallible, but many times a defective chip will tend to overheat. But not always. Another way is to, again, swap them for known good ones. But since th...

Re: Moog Voyager Fault

What do you mean by "the usual problem with the motherboard" exactly? Back when I had my Voyager Old School, it did become defective at one point and the main PCB had to be replaced (faulty Sample And Hold waveform in the LFO section). It was fixed under warranty. BTW, I've since replaced ...

Re: Memorymoog reset

Yes, if both CPUs are on a socket you could try swapping them and see. But realize that many times, peripheral chips might also fail. Logic gates, address decoders, memory chips, and not simply the CPU itself. The Memorymoog is especially susceptible to failures, because of its very complex nature, ...
