Ranging and Scaling an Arp Odyssey

I know this is the Moog forum but I figured that I'd ask here. I have a orange and black Odyssey that needs to be ranged and scaled but I don't know how to do it. In addition, if you put the slider for osc. 1 even with the slider for osc. 2, osc. 1 is considerably lower in pitch. That's not a big de...

Pete, on the organ sound for Won’t Get Fooled Again and Baba O’Riley: I used gated Lowrey organ via EMS VCS3 gated filter. No sequencer. I got my ARP 2500 system (huge) just after I’d recorded the first few demos for Who’s Next. Baba O’Riley was a cheat. I couldn’t get the sequencers and mix-sequen...

I have had all of the Odysseys and have had a 2600 (all of them serviced/modded by CMS) but I have to say that I like the white faced ones the least. I'm not wild about that 12db filter. The last white faced one I had I traded it for an SH-5 (another 12db filter but has a great stand alone bandpass ...

You're not talking about Baba O'Reilly because that's just the organ.

This is correct. Not a synth. Those who don't believe haven't heard the Lowrey organ.
Or haven't owned a 2600 or a VCS3. You only have to play that organ for a second and it's immediately it.

I think that you're confusing that for "Won't get fooled again." Here's a link

That is a lowrey tbo-1 organ I believe. I can't remember the model number. I think it's the banjo setting. It has an automated arpeggiator thing and that's what it is. If you have ever played that organ it sounds exactly like it immediately. You can find them now and then for really cheap. I passed ...

I know it probably won't happen, but I hope this inspires Moog to release a 2 oscillator monosynth that combines the best features of the Prodigy, Rogue and MG-1 into one box and is the same size as this thing. Well the LP has lots more features than all of those synths you mentioned and you can ge...

I was/am a Moog artist. Artist Relations used to handle Moog endorsements now Moog handles this directly. The change took place sometime last year but I am unaware as to why.

I can't get the new OS to load

I am using a macbook pro OS 10.5.6. I am using a digidesign digi 02 rack as my MIDI interface. I got the update to start but then got a cycle 1 error or stage 1 error or something like that. I have a USB cable but don't know how to do the update via USB. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm on a Mac and I can't get past the part where it asks you which Phatty you have. I keep selecting the "stage" one and it's lit up blue but nothing is going on. Am I missing something?

I think that you're referring to the Yamaha GX-1 That would be that unit : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duyCDWWPCik&feature=related . Video shot in my backyard (Olympic Stadium 1976-7 ?), included in the 2 DVD set "In the beginning". I can understand a musician's never ending search...

Kraftwerk, JMJ, Radiohead, Gary Numan, Volt Per Octaves, and yeah, YES, Pink Floyd, ELP...bands like that. Pink Floyd used a lot of MiniMoog and ARP, and ELP used a Moog modular and later, a Yamaha CS-80 prototype which was simply massive. Had three, maybe four keyboards. I think that you're...

if you really had 20k to spend on them you should have just gone with a Mini like you have an a modular, all those entry level synths wouldn't seem like they would do much for you. Get some Moogerfooger modules or even just the cp-251 and that will expand your Mini quite a bit. You should look into...
