Re: Modular 4 voice Oberheim massive repairs

@chromium, in my long time spent as a tech I found, first pass debugging digital logic can usually (90%) find the problem with a quick pass over the suspect area with a scope. You'll likely find the problem just by the 'look' of the signal; open, shorted, dead. Only the most recaltricant problems r...

Re: Modular 4 voice Oberheim massive repairs

It's all ball bearings nowadays </fletch> The FVS was a lot of fun to restore, and the modular build is nice since you can work small sections without the entire thing being out of commission. I still need to sort out the patch storage/recall fault on mine (bad static RAM.. CMOS.. other.. all the ab...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Wow, very nice one. I had no idea it did exist. How do you tune that? Just like hedgehogs reproduce: very carefully  I'll buy that.  Yeah that's about it! Gotta have needlenose fingertips to work those little octave tuners. Luckily, it stays in tune fairly well. The root...

Re: looking for a Psionic Soundworks Walking Stick

Believe me, I've struggled a lot around the whole track/hold feature. Saves a ton of ancillary patching and modules That there hints at the biggest challenge in bringing it into the controller. The t/h circuit itself is fairly simplistic, but the component overhead needed to reliably trigger it real...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Cool pedal/preamp (and Clav... and phaser...)! I've seen those before, but never heard one. It is kind of limited because in a chord, notes are lost, but this is the case with many distortions. Hex fuzz seems to help there (separate distortion for each string)! Really sounds like nothing else I've h...

Re: looking for a Psionic Soundworks Walking Stick

Thanks for the clarfication, chromium! The snap-back behavior sounds fine to me. Yeah I like it too, due to my affinity for stringed things... but I know that the t/h behavior is desirable. Maybe someday... but then again Eowave and Doepfer have that pretty well covered, and I'm obviously not geare...

I think the belt sander is of "Central Machinery" origin. Harbor Freight- Yay! (hey, it still works...)

Re: looking for a Psionic Soundworks Walking Stick

Late to the thread... but yes, I do indeed have plans for another Walking Stick, and as of late last month I am actively working on the first batch. Nailing down dates is always tough for me due to other commitments, and the fact that I build and distribute them in small batches by hand, by myself ...

Re: looking for a Psionic Soundworks Walking Stick

So, I'm on the list for one, aren't I, Joe? BTW, I'm gonna be selling off a ton of stuff. You interested in the A100 and Leslie? You bet! PIng me anytime if you are interested, and you're always welcome to come try one out when the first batch is fully baked. I can't believe you are selling the Ham...

Re: New Keybed for the Memorymoog

Define "swampy" ? Well............how can I define swampy....... It's just like sitting down on an old sofa and "sink" down................or walking through the forrest after a heavy rain. The best would be playing on a P 08. Then you'd know what I like most and would like to h...
