Re: Analog Polysynth?
Allow me to quote from a comment I wrote in November 2008 - on a thread called "What should Moog release next?" "What should Moog release next? Honestly, I have no idea. The only thing I know is that it has to be something that helps them stay in business and survive the global recess...

If you can afford the XL, maybe you can afford this one too:

Re: Experimental Synth Videos
Thanks for the videos, Chris, and congrats on the coverage at Create Digital Music today: "Chris Stack, now no longer with Moog Music, is instead spending his time putting out a terrific series of demo videos in which he combines a dream studio of Moog gear. (...) Now, he’s back with a fantasti...

Re: Little Phatty vs. Voyager: With one should I buy?
anoteoftruth said: I think I would've been more confused with the Voyager off the bat, being a newbie to synths... but the LP made everything really easy to understand/tweak/learn from. Then after getting a RME it made it really easy to catch on to the additional features. Interesting view, anoteoft...

Re: Voyager VS Model D : Compare and Contrast
Interesting question, Electrong. I have no experience with the Model D - only with the rack mount edition of the Voyager. But I have a feeling that the balance between complexity and simplicity is perfectly implemented in the Voyager. I would hope that someone who is familiar with both the old Minim...

ctrlshft,
Well said. The internet forums and the manufacturers of analog synth modules (small businesses, often working from their own kitchen) are taylor made for each other.

Re: Oberheim Two voice
Reading gazer's last post, I guess I am more interested in the two voice machine than I previously thought. It's also great to see this kind of dialogue between customers and synth makers.

Re: Oberheim Two voice
Thanks, DontBelievetheHype! I am less interested in the coming dual voice SEM than in using the single voice SEM with lots of CV ins and out. It would be great together with my Voyager RME - a 5 oscillator synth with different filters... But since my RME always remains in a rack at home, it would al...

Re: How does Frequency Modulation work?
Psicolor, I don't know if you've seen it, but somewhere in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtHJ7UqDRJM
Brian Kehew demonstrates the FM functions on the Voyager -
also using the red buttons to the right of the 3-1 FM.
Hope that helps!

Re: Oberheim Two voice
And as an additional question - I suppose you can use the MP-201 as a MIDI/CV interface for the SEM - connecting a keyboard to MIDI in on the MP, and CV from the MP to the SEM - right?

Re: Oberheim Two voice
As for the existing one-voice SEM, I want the patchable version. But I also want to connect a MIDI keyboard to the SEM when I am away from my Voyager RME. So, how about using the Doepfer Dark Energy as a MIDI/CV interface? Then one would have a very compact, very portable three oscillator synth with...

Re: Music production 101
How do I learn the basics of syncing up this to that and scsi...midi....the whole nine yards. I want to really dive into this thing but I don't know where to start. There is so much out there but it's all geared toward the pros. Nothing for the beginner that I've seen. Cole  This could perhap...
