Re: Sub 37 updated release date: November ?

Spoke with B&H as well, they said November, period. Canceled my preOrder with them.

Spoke with NovaMusik, and they said all of batch 1 is spoken for but they'll get back to me to see when they 2nd batch is coming in. The rep said he thinks it will be well before fall.

Re: Sub 37 updated release date: November ?

I just spoke with a Sweetwater representative, and he said they are expected to ship in May/Jun, however all the units are spoken for. This means that anyone placing a pre-order now will not receive their unit until Fall at the earliest. My guess is this will be the case with most major retailers.

Re: Sub 37 updated release date: November ?

Yes, it would be very helpful to know this. I was about to place a pre-order with B&H but I won't do it if I have to wait till November. Not about to drop $1500 to wait 7 more months.

Re: Sub 37 Feature Request....

It would also be rad if one of the LFOs was independent of the mod wheel, or could at least be optionally decoupled from it.

Re: Sub 37 Feature Request....

Ok, I just thought of a feature that might actually be doable. Since it's going to have two LFOs, one (or both) could have LFO Rate as a modulation destination. All kinds of wacky fun could be cooked up with this.

Re: How does Phatty Line Compare to Voyager?

Biggest difference is probably the filter section. Voyager has two filters which you can configure in a variety of ways, yielding a bandpass filter or parallel lowpasses, while the Little Phatty and Sub Phatty have filter overdrive and multidrive, respectively. The overdrive on the Little Phatty can...

Re: Sub 37 Feature Request....

Belay that request, as Amos has reiterated that it is normal behavior for all new Moog oscs. I think it gets accentuated by the gain architecture and extra highs on the Sub. Interestingly, my osc 1 has it more pronounced than osc 2.

Re: Sub Phatty non continuous waveshape oscillators

I think I know what you mean about the high harmonics accentuating the switch. I took the osc down to 3 on the mixer and killed all multidrive and could only hear the switch if I did a very slow sweep. It doesn't really make itself apparent when doing PWM type effects. No worries, just being a picky...

Re: Sub Phatty Sub 37 oscillators

Another thing I noticed on the Sub is that the wave knob on each osc won't take the osc to 99% (or 1%) duty cycle on the Pulse wave. You can get it to sweep further with modulation, but it won't go there on its own. Could this be fixed through software/firmware>

Re: Sub Phatty non continuous waveshape oscillators

Another thing I noticed is that the Pulse wave does not achieve the extreme end of the duty cycle without using the modulation/ wheel. In other words, it only goes to about 75% before the knob runs out of room, but you can get it to go 99% or silent with modulation.

Re: Sub Phatty non continuous waveshape oscillators

Just watched the youtube video and I'm shocked. There is no spike on his Sub Phatty, yet I have one on mine.

I would say this qualifies for a repair, no?

Ok wait so... other Sub Phatties don't have this issue? Mine certainly does, and I don't care for it. So confused.

Re: Sub 37 Feature Request....

If I could request one thing and one thing only it would be to "fix" the continuously variable oscillators such that they don't have that hard switch between saw and square. Don't really see any use for it and it sounds like poo when you do osc wave sweeps. Request two would be real analog...

Sub Phatty Sub 37 oscillators

I think this has been discussed in another thread but I wanted to bring it up, as the Sub 37 hasn't been released yet. I love these synths, don't get me wrong. They are huge sounding and unique synths. I certainly don't want to come off as if I'm griping about anything that is inherently "part ...

Re: Sub 37 CV in behavior

Bumping this to see if I can get a response. Still on the fence as to whether or not I want to keep my Sub Phatty. The answer to this question might be the deciding factor. Still having a hard time wrapping my head around how polychaining will work between these two synths considering the difference...
