Re: Desktop version of the Sub Phatty?
Then again, I just saw how many of the "hidden" functions require keys to change programming. Though I'd imagine that could all be done with a remote MIDI keyboard too. But yeah, it is screaming out for something a bit more luxurious than a mere two octaves. I control my Minibrute all the ...

I'd love a desktop version. I've too many keyboards already.

Out of curiosity, what did he want for it?
If nothing else it can be turned into an attractive coffee table.

Re: Who has found themselves on MatrixSynth or synthtopia?
Matrixsynth kindly put up a link to the website detailing the modular cabinets I manufacture and sell, but sadly none of my videos have appeared there.
Then again if you saw my videos you'd probably understand why.

Re: Anyone use Synthesizers.com Stuff?
It isn't polyphonic control or mixing I'm remarking about so much. It's the fact that as polyphony goes up, so does the demand for perfect tracking from every oscillator. Ah, okay. I suppose I hadn't thought about that because I actually don't mind those chords that are a half dozen (or more) hertz...

Re: Anyone use Synthesizers.com Stuff?
I think we're finally reaching a point where the words "modular" and "polyphony" can be used together in the same sentence without a lot of titters and guffaws. First off there's a lot of options on the table now for polyphonic MIDI-CV control: Expert Sleepers in particular, but ...

Re: A little humor...
I used to think Ozzy was hard to understand because of where he was from. Then I remembered that several members of Duran Duran are pretty much from the same neck of the woods and they are as lucid as Stephen Fry giving elocution lessons.
I can only imagine the work that went into being his manager.

Re: Anyone use Synthesizers.com Stuff?
Yikes... Can you please tell me what do all of those modules do? Depends on the modular system, really. That's part of the fun. On mine there are three different sequencers, for example: a suite of STG Time modules that control both voltages and gates, a Q119 (Dotcom's "new" sequencer des...

Re: vocals through LP
The "Schlong & Capade" near me (in Burlington, ON) is actually really good. The employees actually seem to know what they're talking about, and they don't appear to have huge staff turnover. I can't say the same for all of them though. There's a lot of variability from location to loca...

Re: A little humor...
Of course the riposte to that are those great YouTube videos or Keith Richards and Ozzy Osborne, both looking rather befuddled by a Moog modular and a 2600, respectively.

Re: Scared to buy a Slim Phatty-ease my fears
Hey guys- I want a Slim Phatty really bad- it appears to be everything I want(I did wish it had analog pots instead of rotary encoders) From the SP manual: The SP’s editing controls are actually analog potentiometers [/size] They are not endlessly spinning, noticeably stepped, or exhibiting any of ...

Re: Making a Moog Sound Like a Piano
I've heard some reasonable emulations of acoustic pianos on analogue synths (and, truth be told even more so on FM synths), but not when you sit and solo them. The best they can do is evoke the attack/decay of a piano and get you in a similar timbral zone which will work in an ensemble context. But ...

Re: the LP presets; can I make one from another?
The short answer to your question is "yes". Picture the synth as a deck of cards. Each preset is a hand. If you go back to the deck, put back certain cards and pull out other ones you will be able to get the same hand every time. With that in mind you could, if you want, have a hundred ide...
