Re: 904A output intermittently is only noise

Thanks for the idea Tom. I agree. That it's "intermittent" does sound like a bad solder joint somewhere. Unfortunately, the solder sides of the two PCBs face each other so I can't do a visual inspection very easily. Pushing/tapping on the components is a good option. I will give a look lat...

904A output intermittently is only noise

I have a re-issued Model 15. Tonight as I was playing it, I noticed that when I inserted a plug into one of the control input jacks, I'd hear a "pop", and then the output would be only noise, or noise with a very weak audio signal. It didn't matter if the other end of the cable was connect...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Moog 1150 Ribbon Controller. I designed and then had Front Panel Express fabricate a custom aluminum panel to replace the old, plastic one. Cleaned it up and it works great! I've had it working with my new issue Model D, Model 15, and my boatload of Steiner-Parker Synthasystem modules.

Newark had the connectors in stock in March when I bought a bunch.

Model 15 and 953 triggering

A couple of very basic questions please. I just received my Model 15 (s/n 84) and 953 controller. I connected the 953 to the 1-2 input on the Model 15 as instructed. The trigger seems to be operating backwards to what the quick start sheet says for the 953. When I use Trigger 1, it only triggers on ...

Re: System 55 Restoration

Thanks Dave. I thought I had read/heard that they were toroids and your photos seem to confirm this. When I did my clone, Carsten Toensmann wound some custom spool type inductors for me. They seem to work fine, but I have no 914 against which to directly compare.

Re: Age old dilemma...

What do you feel like you are lacking that precipitated you to expand? In other words, What do you want to accomplish with the extra modules? On one or two of the demos of the Moog 15 from NAMM, the guy kept referring to the 921Bs as "utility oscillators" which was so annoying. He looked ...

Re: Age old dilemma...

Just curious- what do you have now? IMO, the more oscillators and filters the better (though I'm sure others will differ in opinion here ) Keep up the good work! Best, ~Rezin Thanks. The best answer is to give you a link to my web site, m The foundation is a Steiner-Parker Synthasystem from PCBs I ...

Re: Hissing from 907 Fixed Filter Bank

Good to know. Yes, I'm finding out that Moog designs are perhaps a bit more idiosyncratic than I had previously considered The speaker is AC powered- I'll try moving it away and see what happens. PSU is feet away from the unit, and there's really nothing else around from an electronic point of view...

Re: System 55 Restoration

Dave,

Excellent and interesting as always. One question, did you notice if the inductors in the 914 are toroids or spool type?
