Hi Rudi,
this is exactly what I dont want. I want no connection between the EXT Audio pot and the presets, so that I can set the level of the EXT input while it is switched out, so that I can bring it in at the volume I want with the switch,

Older Firmware for RME
where can I get older firmware for a Voyager RME, which has the option to switch off the connection between EXT Audio pot and preset select ?
I had an older firmware but not sure which one it was. 3.5 doesnt have that feature anymore, and I find it very useful,

Re: problem with osc 3 octave (tuning)
no i didnt have to sign anything, actually the information is easily found on the web anyway.
it was a single turn pot that was the dodgy one.
ive had the RME running for three days now with no problem, it might be worth not trying to replace the iffy pot, best leave well alone now i think.

Re: problem with osc 3 octave (tuning)
its looking very likely to be trimpot RP14 which sets the high range.
its got a distinct spot where the frequnecy suddenly changes.
ive calibrated Osc 3 according to instructions from tech support, and i made sure that RP14 was set in a slightly different position away from the dead spot, but still ...

Re: problem with osc 3 octave (tuning)
thanks 'thealien666'
i'll check out those trimpots
I would gently tap on each one while listening to OSC 3 and see if there's any slight change in pitch, and to possibly locate one that is flaky, maybe due to bad internal wiper contact or possibly a cracked solder joint around one of its legs ...

Re: does anyone sell theire RME because of tuning issues?
i certainly wouldnt sell mine,
mine takes about 45 minutes to settle, and its very easy to have a guitar tuner permannetly plugged in to the headphone socket to keep it in tune
but if you read my thread , you'll see a tuning problem which isnt normal, and unfortunately it has surfaced at live gigs ...

problem with osc 3 octave (tuning)
i have an intermittent problem where my voyager goes suddenly out of tune. it seems to happen when the synth has been on a long time, like most of the day.
on further investigation i've found that its Osc 3, and if i retune Osc 3, it will be way sharp in the octave above and way flat in the octave ...

octave switch noise problem
i was wondering if this was a common problem.
the octave switches (osc 1 and 2) on my RME have become noisey and glitchy, even though its only two years old.
i frequently get a kind of warble effect as i switch octaves, sometimes just momentarily, other times it lingers for a second.
osc 3 is fine ...

When trying to run my modular from my Voyager I ran into the same thing. It output close to 1V/Oct but it is bipolar. OV is not the 1st (lowest) note possible. It is somewhere about the 3rd octave on a piano. I eventually had to buy a MIDI/CV convertor to drive my modular. I was able to do it using ...

CV to pitch calibration - is it possible ?
i recently bought a VX352 so that i could run my RME from my modular, and i noticed that that the RME gets progressively flat as i go up in pitch (quite badly), when sending CV s from my modular.
the same CVs track reasonably accurately with all my other oscillators, so i can only presume that the ...
