Interestingly, I'm finding myself enjoying the sound of my RME more than the OS. Go figure. *shrug*

There's nothing digital in the OS, other than the keyboard controller, if I recall correctly. That's not the case with the standard Voyager.

OK, got it, plugged it in. Initial reaction - could be placebo effect, but there does appear to be a difference in the sound (not necessarily a difference of quality, just a difference) between the two. Hard to tell without them both in front of me. Better or worse? Not even going to go there ...

Congrats on your OS, Jim! You and I chatted on eBay when I was selling my OS, I think. I still think it's a killer synth, and I'm sure I'll end up regretting it one day - but for now, I need an RME. I'll be sure to add my thoughts when it arrives (any minute now! Come on, UPS!).

I didn't get around to trying, anyway. I reorganized my room, and something in my setup changed - the hum isn't present right now. Weird.

Here's the catch, though: if I plug everything into the same power strip, same issue.

I'll try to isolate the issue further, I know debugging ground loops and stuff over the interwebs is tricky. :)

Strange hum issue...

My Voyager OS seems to introduce "hum" from its audio out, even when powered off. Not huge hum, but it's always there in the background. I've tried plugging it into various powerstrips, and directly into the wall, without success. The hum goes away when I either (a) unplug the power cord, or (b ...
