Etherwave Pro Molded Case
As everyone knows, the Etherwave Pro was supposed to be available last March. Moog kept delaying and delaying it, only finally releasing it after rasing the price by an astonishing 50%. So I ordered when it was "available" and waited, and waited. Finally, I discovered a store that had one ...

Orange amps are expensive, tube amps. You might be able to find one used for under $1000.00 on eBay, but if you want something new, you'll have to pay a lot more. A synth is capable of sounding like anything from a flute to a deep bass, everything in between, and things that have ranges that exceed ...

The problem is not with the frequencies or even with the complexity, but with the duration. A bass guitar can produce a wide range of frequencies and its amp needs to be able to reproduce them. But a synth can produce the same frequencies, combined with a much wider range (and amplitude) of overtone...

A theremin is an electomechanical device, about the size of a small automobile. You sit inside of it and have an interactive experience. The fit is skin tight, and streams of water pound down on you, but you are in a sort of vinyl protective covering, so it feels like a powerful and erotic massage. ...

Not yet...
Still no sign of my Pro. It was supposed to ship in March, remember? Then summer. Then the end of summer. When I ordered it was supposed to be shipped around the end of October. At the end of October I called and they said it would probably ship around the end of November. Now I'm told maybe the end...

For a surprisingly inexpensive effect, try the Arion SAD-3. It has a couple of benefits. First, being analog, it warms up the sound a bit. Second, because the output is stereo, it livens the sound (especially if you output in stereo). I also like to use an octave pedal. The Boss is good, but some pe...

LWG, that's why I said the DX-7 was PARTLY responsible for the decline of U.S. synth companies. There were many causes, including poor hardward design, copycat modules (2-3 oscillators, 1-2 EGs, 1 Filter [LP or multimode], and a few other various ones), bad financial control, etc. But when the P5 wa...

As I understand it, many years ago Bob Moog had the realization that you could take standard test modules--oscillators, filters, amplifiers, etc.--and put them together to make a musical instrument. Similarly, a man named John Chowning had the realization that FM sounds could be controlled to make m...

I disagree. It would be quite expensive. You'd have to either hand wire the circuit boards or else pay to have custom chips designed. Many of the parts, such as original transformer, an important aspect of the sound, might not even be available any more and would have to be recreated in small quanti...
