You've got to be kiddin', huh?
What sounds good to one person will sound terrible to another, and vice versa.
Use your ears and determine which will sound best to you. THAT is the one that sounds the best...to you.

Actually, no synthesizer, no instrument at all makes sound. Want proof? Put your synth on the floor and wait for it to make a sound. Don't hold your breath. Musicians make sounds. They use synthesizers, amplifiers,non-amplified instruments, effect pedals, etc. But without musicians, all instruments ...

Bob Moog Ill?
Just heard rumors that Bob is quite ill.
Does anyone have any details?
If he is ill, I wish him all the best for a quick and thorough recovery!

Well, that depends upon a variety of things. Compare it to two 1965 Ford Mustangs. One is in pristine condition without a scratch. The engine works so smoothly that it virtually hums. That vehicle is worth a great deal of money. The other has a body that is rusted through and a blown-out engine whic...

Yes, you are correct that the sound of the Mini (as with any synth) is the sum of the parts, from the power supply and oscillators to the filters. But I've never met any musician who can't tell the difference between a 24 db/oct Moog filter and the filters in ARPs, P5s, etc. You may say it's utter c...

chill, then read, K?
I realize that liking certain qualities is all a matter of personal preference, but I do wish you'd read what I posted before dissing. Qwave, you wrote that the Matrix is "by no means as bold as a Voyager." But I didn't say that it was! I said that was good for "rich, full-bodied, Moo...

Sound quality
As has been pointed out, the Moog plays only one note at a time (although by playing with the relative volume of the oscillators, you can give it a type of pseudo-polyphony). The P5 gives you an amazing (for the time) 5 notes. Several versions of it were made, and the last verson, v 3.3, is generall...
