Get a Challenger! Also, buying any car right now, if it's American, will make some people very very happy indeed. (I got to drive a Charger for Thanksgiving break; I forgot they existed since we only get the 300C here and when the rental company said "Hey, your midsize is a Sebring" I bas...

Do you get new Doctor Who? That's quality. No but the earlier Dr. Who series was a cult classic here. Totally OT here. Speaking of british TV there used to be a kids program called Willo The Wisp and it had a character in it called "The Moog" !!! It was like this dumb dog thing! http://ww...

From the horse's mouth: http://keyboardmag.tv/index.html?req=1&station=davesmith Click on "Prophet Prophecy," to hear Dave Smith talk about DCO/VCO, still a bit vague but there's some interesting clips there. These are GREAT videos. Now I know why there isn't analog delay. Watch "...

:) Its old English for "Thank You Bub"... Ok, all joking aside here is my opinion (not facts because I haven't seen the internals nor schematics for a LP)..... Most LCD displays have driver boards which generate the characters (alphabets and numbers) and contain the backlighting for the LC...

Thanks for the responses - i have tried emailing moog a couple of times via the email address on the website but have had no response. I am based in the UK so shipping would cost an arm and a leg. Amos - come on guy! Could you help out at all? If he doesn't read this thread you could try sending hi...

Arp did it, then went out business. SCI did it before and went out of business. (DSI's P8 uses digital oscillators too.) Are you sure???? Yup DCOs in the P08. See specs on website. http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/products/p8/index.php Thanks, Dada! And thanks, Kevin, too for the clarification. ...

Arp did it, then went out business. SCI did it before and went out of business. (DSI's P8 uses digital oscillators too.) Are you sure???? Dave uses CEM chips in the Evolver line and the P-08. I believed the oscillators were also from CEM. Doug Curtis died within the past year if I recall but CEM wa...

I hear ya Flash!

I too would like to see a Moog PolySynth but then I would probably want both too. I'm a big fan of Dave's products and really want a P-08 (and a Linn Drum II Analog).

However a Moog PolySynth would be the thing!

You can do a lot of analog with not very much digital horsepower... the Voyager runs off a Z180! Interesting.... I forget what the differences are with the Z180 versus the Z80. I have many Z-80's that I use just for various projects. I know I can go to Zilog's web site and see but I assume the Z-18...

:D I hope you're joking!

But I suppose you really don't need much processing power since the sounds are purely analog and the digital aspect of it is just for MIDI, patch storage and the controls.

But an 8051?

Good question. It seems these days there is some type of C complier for almost every microcontroller/CPU. I don't know about Moog but if I recall Dave Smith uses a DSP chip and I believe a PIC as the CPU (microcontroller). Moog probably uses something similar as synths, in general, don't need massiv...
