Refurbish LP Stage I keybed?
Hi -- I've got a fairly early LP Stage 1 (serial number in the 300s) that I bought new, and still use as my main mono. Over the years the keyboard action has gotten pretty clacky, and I've always wished it was a bit stiffer. Is it possible to refurbish the action on these, so that it will be quiet a...

Re: Limited edition Subsequent 37 CV announced
Any chance there will be an update kit for all the loyal, long-time Sub 37 users? I'd be very interested in this as well. Not so much the CV outs, but getting increased mixer headroom on my Sub 37 would be wonderful. Right now the only thing I don't like about the synth is how it always tends towar...

Re: Sub 37 duo mode distortion -- just me?
Thanks everyone -- MoogProg's duo mode solo does sound pretty clean. But on the other hand I'm pretty sure it isn't just a mixer/interaction thing I'm hearing, since I'm getting different results when tuning the oscillators in non-duo mode versus playing the same interval in duo mode (with everythin...

Sub 37 duo mode distortion -- just me?
Hi Everyone, I'm wondering -- is it normal for there to be a lot of distortion in duo mode? I'm finding that I just can't get a clean signal in that mode. For example, I'll set up a patch with both oscillators on at 40%, with no multidrive or feedback, and as expected it will be quite clean. But the...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates
There's another thread about this, but I thought I'd add it here to be with the rest of the requests... It could be useful if there was a mode where the synth would ignore external play/stop message while still being synced to external clock. This isn't a common feature, but it has just been added t...

Re: Sub 37: Ignore play/stop possible?
Thanks again for all the replies. On digging a bit deeper, it seems that the TR-8 definitely does keep sending clock even when stopped, so what I'm experiencing has to do with the Sub 37 start/stop being slaved to the TR-8 start/stop. Ironically, it looks like the only piece of gear I have that has ...

Re: Sub 37: Ignore play/stop possible?
Thanks klfnk -- I didn't know that. What's weird is that the TR-8 seems to send clock when it's first turned on even if I haven't pressed play. But then once I've pressed play the first time, the clock toggles on and off as you describe. Oh well, I guess that means my options are to see if the TR-8 ...

Re: Sub 37: Ignore play/stop possible?
Thanks Daan, but that doesn't quite get at what I'm asking. Picture this scenario: I've got a latched sequence playing on the Sub 37, and a pattern playing on the drum machine, and I want to stop the drum machine but have the Sub 37 sequence keep going. Right now, I can't find a way to do that becau...

Sub 37: Ignore play/stop possible?
I just got a Sub 37, and am really happy with it. The only thing I'm wondering is whether it's possible to set it to ignore play/stop messages but still be synced to external MIDI clock? I'm using a Roland TR-8 as the master clock for my whole setup, but it's driving me nuts not being able to indepe...

MP-201 on consignment
In case anyone's interested, I've got an MP-201 on consignment at Space Man Music in Ottawa. It's on their website now and I'm pretty sure they ship internationally.

Re: Question for Moog owners.
I'll throw in another vote for the LP + CP-251. I also had a hard time dealing with the lack of an audio noise source and the single mod bus, but adding a CP opens things up enough that the LP really becomes a pretty powerful semi-modular. For years I owned a Model D, and could still get it back pre...

Re: Synth repair in Los Angeles?????!!!
It's a drag, but I recently reached the same conclusion (for myself) as what Kevin is suggesting about vintage synth ownership. I had a Model D that I bought for $250 in the late 80s. It's still with a friend of mine, and he's willing to sell it to me for $400 (long story involving friends of friend...

Re: Regarding Mods: Any curatorial sentiments?
My piano does not have the original hammers but the replacement ones are way less maintenance and their neophrene tips sound excellent with the tonebar/tine sets in this piano. That is value in my book. The original preamp, poweramp, and speakers were missing - again not a concern because they didn...

Regarding Mods: Any curatorial sentiments?
Hi Everyone, This is just something I'm curious about. In some circles (I'm thinking of guitar forums I've read), some people take the view that once an instrument is really old, and increasingly rare, it becomes important for owners to start to think of themselves as curators or guardians as much a...
