Back to Moog via Matriarch

I used to be really into the Moogerfoogers and a Little Phatty, but then life had different plans. I've followed the various synths over the last several years and realized that the Matriarch is where I want to be. Lots of flexibility, but still very much about the moment and exploration. My local d...

Re: RIP Moogerfooger

The Moogerfoogers are where I really learned about synthesis. The effects are fantastic and the manuals were so well-written.

Re: Odd Behavior With 104SD

Cranked up the old 104SD last night and had some disappointing results. Feedback was limited to about a single repeat with the FB knob maxed. Mix knob on max was producing very weak delay output compared to dry signal. Also, had to unplug and re-power numerous times to get any delay at all. Also tr...

OP here ...

I decided not to go with either. I'm going to take a hard look at the Sub 37 when it is released.

I had so many issues with my Z that I would never buy another Z and I'm hesitant to get the M. I loved my Z when it was working, but ...

I think I've decided on the Sub Phatty, though I do want to get my hands on one before purchasing.

Considering a Sub Phatty or a Mini Brute

I used to have a Little Phatty and really liked it, but my music took a different direction for the past few years. I'm thinking about getting another monosynth, either a Sub Phatty or a Mini Brute. The Sub Phatty obviously does more, but the Mini Brute would leave some $ for other equipment, like a...

I would love to beta test this. My main instrument is acoustic guitar and I do a lot with an eBow, so this paradigm shift is right up my alley.

Re: MP-201 Discontinued

That's too bad. I really liked the one that I had. It allowed levels of control that were amazing. It never appeared to be a big seller.

Re: Possible trigging CP-251 S&H with audio?

What is great about this is that you can adjust how strong the trigger signal is. I'd set it up so that soft sounds wouldn't trigger the new random voltage, but loud sounds would. It adds randomness, but only when you call for it. Put it on a drum machine and adjust it so that the hi hat doesn't tri...

Re: What inspired your interest in Moog?

I saw a CP-251 at a local shop and was intrigued by it. I already understood the basics of synthesis, but had only worked with software. Seeing the physical routing of control voltages with knobs to control things really excited me. I went home, read all of the manuals, and eventually bought a few e...

Re: Mf 104 loop in & out

My favorite effects to use in the loop were a pitch shifter or a ring modulator. You'd hear dry signal, first repeat, and then every subsequent repeat would be increasingly pitch shifted or ring modulated. A truly amazing sound, in my experience. A really choppy tremolo was also cool, as it would ma...

Hey everyone! Long time, no post.

I saw this synth in my e-mail. I can sum it up in one word: Want!
