Well, I put it on ebay for a week. Not one bid!!
Amazingly, it was on at the same time as two others, with some quite serious damage -- and one of them had a bid of over £300!
Funny old world......... Looks like it was an omen that perhaps I shouldn't sell it after all?

Re: moog prodigy for sale
As I mentioned in my post above, I have a Prodigy in excellent condition too (although not quite 'mint' --it has tiny scuffs on the end cheeks!). I currently have it on ebay with a starting price of £525, which seems to be round about the going rate for good ones. Maybe a little more if I'm lucky. T...

Re: moog prodigy for sale
Well, I've had a go at making a video, to try and show that everything works. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hExz24-jTBU Hopefully , that would be enough to convince a prospective buyer that it's the real thing, and worth coming to have a look at! I also did a pdf of some higher...

Re: moog prodigy for sale
Hi Sweep - many thanks for your very helpful post. As I say, I'm a complete novice when it comes to eBay, so your comments are much appreciated. Thanks for your offer to consider listing, but I really couldn't be much further from you - I'm right on the south coast!! Following on from your comments,...

Re: moog prodigy for sale
Thanks for your response. My market is probably a bit limited by the fact I'm in the UK then! 220V version (336BX model - 2nd edition), so not really an option for a US sale. Thanks for the price indicators though. Looks like I might have ago at eBay then - see if I get ripped off or not!! Or maybe ...

Re: moog prodigy for sale
I have decided to sell my Prodigy after nearly 30 years (bought new in 1982) but I don't know the best way to go about it? Someone said just put it on eBay, but I've no experience of that, so am a bit reluctant. It's never been gigged, and is immaculate. Fully functional, serviced and calibrated. Ev...

One of the biggest problems with the rev 2s is getting the SSM chips -particularly the SSM2040 filter. But it was that filter that makes many folk reckon the rev 2's were the best sounding of all the Prophet 5s! There is a guy in the UK with some SSM chips (including 2040s) for sale, so if you know ...

Thanks for all the input, guys. Some very interesting titles. I'd really like to find some info/footage on/of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, during the production of the Doctor Who theme. I know that this was made using many of the elements that make up a synthesizer (i.e. oscillators) without actua...

There is the other option using crystal oscillators -- frequency synthesis using a phase lock loop --- but again not really suitable for analogue music synthesisers! Anyone who has experimented with musical VCOs will know about the very convenient relationship between a linear change in Vbe causing ...

Probably going to be true for the Prodigy as well -- I think this guy may be expecting a bit too much!

Re: Need technical help with my Broken Moog Prodigy
It is supposed to output 23Volts but at what amperage? The service schematic shows the secondary windings fused at 250mA -- so you should be OK with a transformer of 10VA, or perhaps slighty more to be on the safe side. The manual shows +/- 23v RAW - As this DC is then regulated it is not a critica...

I would think you'll have no trouble getting that price -- one has just gone for more than £450 on eBay today -- with switchcaps missing!! I now know why a colleague recently offered me £250 for my Prodigy -I had no idea they were fetching these prices. Needless to say, I didn't part with it. Mine i...
