Jean-Jacques Perrey's new music video - moogtastic!

Hi all, I have just finished creating the first Jean-Jacques Perrey Music video ever! (in 40 years!). Just in time for his 80th Birthday on Tuesday (20th Jan). I would love for you all to go have a look... the tune is a funky little number co-composed with fellow mooger Dana Countryman and features ...

thanks for that... I did download pretty much everything I could find on the A6, including the tips and tricks... so reading all that lot at the moment. Worked out the OSC levels pretty early on as everything was clipping and the first thing I did was switch off the effects to hear the raw sound... ...

I have a good understanding of modular synthesis, so I'm sure I'll get there. I have never owned a modular, mainly because I like playable instruments... for me something like the Chroma is fantastic (or just a piano)... always wanted a SCi T8 for it's weighted keyboard but never quite got there so ...

I will be interested to hear what you think about the A6. Having had a few nights with it now... you might have to wait a while! Yes, a complex instrument and also slightly whacky... I naturally go for all the controls that I'm used to over the years on other synths and "boom", not what I...

No, I have had better deals, just having moved to Ireland I didn't think they would happen again... it's a land of singers, guitarists and drummers. You get the odd piano store which is more for the new Celtic Tiger money makers as furniture pieces then as musical instruments - very little signs of ...

I just bought an Andromeda last weekend. I've always wanted one but everytime I had the money I bought something vintage... not complaining but now that I have sold off most of the vintage collection I was looking to purchase a modern analog, something like a polyevolver, prophet08 or Andromeda. The...

Well this is the thing... if you want a polyphonic moog sound, however good the other analogue polysynths are, they are not going to fit the requirement. For example, my memorymoog sounds very different to my Rhodes Chroma and that's the beauty of analogue synths, they all sound different, they all ...

I just cannot think of Moog in a polyphonically way - they are the Rolls Royce of mono synths...period. True, for the moment but I think that statement only applies to moogs ventures this time round. I currently have 5 moogs in my collection and 3 of them are polyphonic (polymoog, memorymoog and op...

I agree, when I hear the Moog name I never think of over-engineered poly synths. Every polysynth moog has ever made has been over engineered (not saying they weren't good though!). I think it's funny that we have a situation where history is repeating itself. In the mid 70's SCi brought out the Pro...

the DSI Evolver's analog circuitry runs through an Analog/Digital > D/A converter before being output I believe that the 2 VCO's feed straight through to the filter and envelopes, completely in the analog audio realm (controlled by voltage). The 2 Digital wavetable oscillators are naturally convert...

In the absence of a moog drum machine, this might be the next best thing...

Analog from the Prophet series and drum sequencing from the Linn... also includes all the digital waveforms from the evolver and Roland "TR" programming method.

Martin I always enjoy your work... your sound has a certain innocent quality which reminds me of music I used to listen to as a kid, growing up loving synths... almost a celebration into the pure sound of synthesizers. I agree, the Prodigy is a great synth, I sold mine some years back and wished tha...

Well... it was done just for fun... I only spent about 5 hours on it and most of that was getting the parts in so I wouldn't say it was a masterpiece... just thought you guys would like to hear it. I am happy that I think I got that 70's "moog tribute" feeling to the overall sound. Memorym...

"America" from westside Story - moog style.

Just for fun. After a very long time I'm finally getting round to completing the Jean-Jacques Perrey interview... It's a 2 part interview with the first half almost cut and the second half comprising most of the rlmusic.co.uk interview and some more stuff we shot on the day (so the second half is al...
