Re: HOW TO SET LFO RE- TRIGGER ON MOOG GRANDMOTHER

They won't sync by default on most synth. Some settings need to be done first besides MIDI connections. But the Sub Phatty doesn't send out the needed MIDI clock. So SubPhatty MIDI Out to the Subsequent 25 MIDI In won't work. But with an external MIDI clock and the LFOs of both synths set to sync to...

Re: HOW TO SET LFO RE- TRIGGER ON MOOG GRANDMOTHER

Patch the GATE OOU into the SYNC IN of the LFO. Use the LFO section PITCH AMT or CUTOFF AMT or the PULSE WIDTH AMT (of cause only if you actually use retangular wave shapes of the VCOs) knobs to get a modulation you are searching for. Of cause you need to might need to use the Modwheel to get this d...

Re: Tuning calibration on the Grandmother

Most synths without a patch memory don't have a tuning process. They are calibrated via trimmers inside. These often don't need to re calibrated for years. Please give the analog synths at least 15 min to get in stabil tuning after its switched-on. The Sub Phatty, I own one, got a patch memory. So e...

Re: HOW TO SET LFO RE- TRIGGER ON MOOG GRANDMOTHER

You don't have to use an oscillator for the LFO Sync. This would sync the LFO many, many times per second, even with no sound played (the VCOs run all the time. The VCA opens the sound to be heard). You need to patch a keyboard gate into the LFO sync. So the LFO is synced every time a key is pressed...

Re: One as upgrade from Sub 37?

First of all, the Moog One does not sound like a Sub 37. The oscillators and the filters (2 on the One) are different.

Re: Global octave button on Sub Phatty not changing octaves when I hold key down

Are you absolute sure no MIDI loop via USB is going on It should not differ, if you press the note on the keyboard or receive it via MIDI. If you play the SubPhatty via USB MIDI, turn the local control off while playing the SubPhatty keyboard. Other wise the SubPhaty will receive the pressed note vi...

Re: Global octave button on Sub Phatty not changing octaves when I hold key down

The latest firmware on the Moog personal account pages (where you register your Moog gear) is v2.20. And version 2.0.3 is also available there.
Versions 2.0.5 and 2.0.6 are not available via Moog for some reason.

Re: VX-351 Output Adaptor

Installing the output adapter is not rocket science. Here is a good page showing how to do it: http://www.peff.com/synthesizers/moog/outputadapter/ And maybe the picture of the adapter tells a technician what these 4 resistor networks are for and how to built one, in case Moog does not sell them any...

I would love to add it to my Moog One too. I am also from Germany.

Re: Voyager Editor

Congratulation to your Moog Voyager! The 7 banks of 128 patches (= 896 patch memory slots) was a hardware thing for older Voyagers. You need a firmware version of 3.0 or above to use it. From the time on the hardware and firmware update was released, all new produced Voyagers had the new digital boa...

Re: Voyager aftertouch sensitivity, for MIDI?

The hardware update (I bought it) changed the way the analog aftertouch signal of the keybed is transformed into the needed digital data. It changed the onboard aftertouch as well as the data send. Before this upgrade, the aftertouch was really awful. It was either a bit aftertouch modulation or nea...

Re: Moog Prodigy

Can you hear the filter self oscillating with full resonance if the cutoff is in the audible range? Set the Amount of Contour to zero. And the VCA Envelope to short attack and full sustain. If this is working, try to use the full keyboard tracking of the filter. Does the filter track more or less as...

Re: External Audio Input through Vintage Model D?

The external audio input is available on the vintage Minimoogs too.

But the LFO is only able to modulate the filter cutoff of the external audio. Of cause not the pitch. And these is no onboard way to use the LFO for other modulations such as volume.

Re: minimoog model D plays just one note

But the OSC CONTROL is just switching keyboard tracking of the third oscillator on or off. The other two oscillators should not change by this switch. I got a vintage and a reissue Minimoog here.

If it does change the first two oscillators, there is something strange happening.
