Hi Bryan, Out of the 5 synths I have the Phatty is easiest to use. If you are new to synthesisers then perhaps all the extra functions buried in the menu won't matter so much at first anyway. Even with visual feedback, many people are put off by LCD menus and go for what is within easy reach. That a...

Hiya EricK, I guess the principle is broadly the same, but achieving
the parameter change from the initial digitally generated patch CV settings
with pots rather than encoders is a bigger challenge!

Amos, a hearty thanks to you and your colleagues!

Hiya, I was in touch with Amos about this last year and although Amos was very helpful (thanks Amos!), I detected no earthing issues with my unit -cabling etc and sometimes even have the problem when I was using nothing but headphones. My experience is that the problem is intermittant (though persis...

I had a great experience the other week. You see, I haven't been playing my Phatty much recently because I have a 2 year old son. Whenever he's asleep, I feel too zonked to play. Whenever he's awake and the Phatty is lit up he grabs all the dials and sends the LP into a manic display of flashing lig...

There's nothing wrong with glowing reviews! Much better than
Sonic State offering no user reviews at all........you can enter
your user review manually using the following link

Would anybody like to review the Phatty Stage on Sonic State

Hiya, don't know if any Phatty Stage users use the Sonic State website for checking out synth reviews. I wrote a technical introduction to the Phatty Stage back in July but so far nobody has come forward with any user reviews for the LP Stage. Anybody feel like gushing some enthusiasm or otherwise f...

I've been in correspondance with Amos about this problem too. I haven't solved it and noted it on the forum a few months ago. Amos gave some good tips that I didn't get to try and now my Phatty is temporarily in storage. It appears that noise is getting into the ground plane of the phatty and the RA...

Thanks Amos. Will do the tests and let you know. Need to get off my butt and get more methodological. Actually, this will be the first time I take the Phatty on the road. Four gigs at Glastonbury. It's only had home use so far. I started getting the problem when I upgraded the OS and at the same tim...

Thanks, Fidooda, I'll try switching the settings from track to
pass thru and back again when I next see my Phatty (it's in
a van now so it'll have to be during the first soundcheck).
If that doesn't work I'll just use pass thru during the gig.

Will let you know if it works!

Just to add, with more testing using just headphones
and no audio out, I actually get the spooky knob changes
too.

Need help, Phatty misbehaving

Have a series of gigs this week and made a last minute decision to use the phatty for the first time. I'm running the Phatty into a Lexicon MPX110 and I can't seem to shake off a problem where the RAC keeps kicking in and switching the knob values. It is really annoying and will ruin my performance....

Llamastorm, I had exactly the same problem. Same errors
and same way of fixing it. I have since found out that
I was using a plug with a dodgy ground (after updating
my knob values were moving around), but I'm not
sure if that's why the OS updater didn't work. Glad
you got there in the end.

Hi Amos, sorry for false OS2.0 alarm. After all the testing, what you needs are loads of happy punters emailing their joy and satisfaction at LP heaven getting even better! Your grounding diagnosis was correct. I was using the phatty on a different mains adaptor for OS 2.0 install and testing. Upon ...

Thanks for this guys, I was actually testing the Phatty out
of my rig with headphones only. I did this to get better access
to my computer to install the OS and test it. I had removed
all midi and jack cables and used only headphones. I'll check out
the possibility of power grounding issues.
