Re: Bob Moog's Archives moving to Cornell University

William: I'm glad to talk to you about the Foundation. Feel free to contact me personally. And, if you don't want to talk to me, feel free to go to the Foundation website, which is very up-to-date in regard to our various educational and preservational efforts. Sweep: How gosh-danged frustrating it ...

Re: Need help making decision on purchase of Micromoog

The Micromoog has analog variable waveshape. This variable waveshape is modulatable. That is AMAZING for 1975. In addition to being able to have variable waveshape, and modulatable waveshape, it also allows for the oscillator to modulate the filter... which is NECESSARY for the Moog Sound. The filte...

Ha ha ha, cute. "Finally?"
You'd have to have not been paying attention at all for this even to be your "results."

If you're interested in Bob Moog and his legacy, you might try visiting the BMF website sometime. They've been sharing a great deal for years.

Re: Thinking of selling my Sonic Six... talk me out of it !

If it is functional, do not sell it!

What version is it? Light grey or dark grey?

It's a particularly interesting piece in regard to history and functionality. Worth holding on to if it's functional!

I was looking for those a couple of years ago, and there were none to be found... I ended up having to make my own. :/

You mean... Moogwise?..
Well, I heard a secret rumor.
If it's true, then yes.

Re: Realistic MG-1 Polyphony

Kenneth, You're right, of course. I spent years laboring under the misapprehension that most people on the internet were using synthesizers for the purpose of composing music with them so that they could have as-yet-unheard timbres that precisely suit their timbral wishes. It's been a hard couple of...

Re: Realistic MG-1 Polyphony

Mark / museslave - I do have the overhaul kit (mine is definitely a victim of the dreaded gunk!!), but was wondering if you had any recommendations / "gotchas" to look out for during the overhaul? Also, while it's torn down, any additional recommended mods to make it more usable with mode...

Re: Realistic MG-1 Polyphony

The MG-1 is a desperately under-appreciated synthesizer. While not all of the parts used in it were Moog Music-standard, it was designed and assembled by Moog. It is an astoundingly powerful synthesizer for its price and lack-of-reputation. Don't believe what you hear about the polyphonic section. I...

Mine's a Williamsville. I love it... but, I'd rather... well, you know. :)

Re: My 1996 visit to Big Briar

I hope you still have that Minimoog.

I would say that you look a bit different than when I last saw you. But I looked a hell of a lot different in 1996, too. :)

Re: Dusty! (help?)

As long as your cloth cover fully covers the synth and doesn't allow for a lot of air flow, AND isn't particularly lacking in density, dust isn't going to get through. Of course, because it's cloth, dust might come FROM it, but isn't necessarily getting THROUGH it. Respectfully disagree. The dust I...
