My Walking Stick came in today. It's very well made and a blast to play with. http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/5628/walkingstick1.th.jpg http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/3968/walkingstick2.th.jpg So far my technique has been to play around with the scale so that it's an octave between the two pairs ...

Here's something I put together this weekend. It needs more work, but I'm at a point where I need to learn more about production before I can move forward. http://tindeck.com/image/firp/stats.png The sequenced part and the vocoders are Little Phatty. The drone is my microKorg and the drums are the S...

I think if you change the value of the pot in the foot pedal, you get more. You'd think so, wouldn't you? However, I use both 50 and 100k pots with my rig, and there's no difference in the range they cover. That may seem how it would work intuitively, but changing the pot value will only change the...

Better yet though, I already owned 2 CP's, so I sold the new one on Ebay, and recouped 300. $750+tax. :D It's funny how the world works sometimes because your CP-251 was one of the ones I tried to buy on eBay but you didn't want to ship to Canada (assuming your eBay name is CTRLSHFT also). If not f...

The MIDI can be sent to the LP, but the MIDI is just going to tell the LP to play notes and you'll hear whatever patch is loaded on the LP. Remember, MIDI is just data about notes on, notes off, velocity, knob turns, etc. The LP has no way of knowing what the EIC Clean Strat sounds like. What you wa...

There seems to be some confusion about what type of data is contained in different signals. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) only contains data like note on, note off, velocity, pitch bend, knob turns, etc. It says nothing about what something SOUNDS like. Audio is an analog signal (or di...

Let's hear your awesome deals on Moog gear
After a few weeks of checking eBay multiple times daily, I finally found someone willing to ship a used moogerfooger CP-251 to Canada. The auction listed the CP-251 and rack-mount kit for $300 USD. Not the best deal, but better than what I've found before. The listing pictures showed two CP-251s but...

The resonance set at zero is the least pronounced level of phasing effect you have. It is a filter--after all--and the more resonance you have, the more you hear the edge of the cufoff frequency that's being swept. . Also, remembering it's a filter, to really hear the effect, the input signal needs...

I bought a brand new All-in-One package off eBay (the original Low Pass, Ring Mod, Phaser package). After shipping, duty and brokerage fees it came up to about $1400 CDN. Every Canadian retailer that I could find that sells moogerfoogers wanted $500+tax for the Phaser alone. Regardless, it's not goi...

I bought my All-In-One from this eBay store. I live in Canada. I ended up paying $20 for shipping (cheap considering the package size and weight). I also ended up paying $140 CDN in duty fees and brokerage (in case you are from Canada and would like to estimate total cost). Be warned that his feedba...

I went back to the expression pedal with my multimeter and noticed some strange behaviour. When I checked it before, I was only looking for discontinuities in the circuit. This time I looked more closely and found that the cable was shorting out. I opened the TRS jack by unscrewing the plastic cover...
