Re: System 15 for sale

I bought system 35 few months back in half of that price with shipping from USA to Croatia!!!
Was that the one that was up in November with one broken key? That was a very beautiful thing.

Congrats either way !

Re: A Real Good Reason For A Polymoog

That's because the term "The Moog Sound" was coined specifically in reference to the modular systems, and to a lesser degree the Minimoog. After that, no Moog actually really had what had originally been described as "The Moog Sound," or at least, not as much as the devices whic...

Re: A Real Good Reason For A Polymoog

Great sound indeed, people never mean the polymoogs when they talk about "that moog sound", yet nothing seems more immediately identifyable than that preset. I still feel a little annoyed with myself that I finally tracked down and bought a polymoog synthesizer in the 90s to get that sound...

Re: System 15 for sale

I've totally lost all perspective in what constitutes a "true" selling price thanks to that rather well known auction site. There are legitimate auctions for sure, but the constant relisting, "private feedback", "bidders identities protected" etc etc etc has left me eve...

Moog Customer Service

Just wanted to say that I had a minor problem with my Signature Voyager a few weeks ago, and was once again stunned by how special the Customer Service is at Moog. Other companies would have (and indeed, have in the past) pointed out the age of my product, their policies, their apologies, their deni...

Crazy Horses was the Buchla wasn't it? (System 3?). On the YCs though, they have a special place in my heart due to my favourite band in the late 70s/early 80s. - Magazine (formed by one of the original Buzzcocks). Their keyboard player (Dave Formula) played a YC (a 45 I think?) and it sounded great...

I've always been PC and Cubase VST (since the end of Atari STs that is) and have had years of hicupps, crashes, conflicts and unexplainables. It always seemed unstable, as hardware and software upgrades are inevitable and necessary. At least that's how I remember it. I didn't help, because I did use...

We have a thing in the UK called a "car boot sale" which is an open-air market in a field where people sell off all kinds of things (mostly rubbish) - a bit like a US garage sale but with loads of sellers? I still frequent them during the summer, as you can often find gems amongst it all. ...

I was looking at that one too - £900 is a good price for sure. I was going to ask the seller about the "circuit" fault, but clearly you already have. My SE had major issues with parameters changing/flickering which was fixed immediately by the OS upgrade. On the other hand if it's the actu...

Boeing,

I'm sure I saw a Nord L1 on UK eBay yesterday at a steal of a BIN.

Worth a look.

I've got a N2 - find it a bit harsh though but still good.

I used the headphone socket frequently for the first 8 weeks I had my MMV to get to grips with it, until I finally moved it into the studio. During that time I updated OS and voice banks again and again, with factory resets along the way as I got to know what's what. I never came across any glitches...

With functionally identical non-SE models selling for the prices they do, I think we'll have to wait many years to see an advantage on the resale value of an SE. Most people don't rationalise the SE against the original prices paid, they compare it to the current price (of a non SE) which is 2/3 of ...

Moogs on Ebay

I think when it comes to synths on eBay, particularly older analogs, the whole thing is a den of shill bids, overpricing, self posted bids, non-payer claims etc etc. I've bought loads at fair prices from honest eBayers, only to see similar items "sell" weeks later at 3 or 4 times the price...

I don't own one but I still am convinced the microkorg isn't going to come very close. The filter just isn't close to a Moog filter and people call a sound "Moog-like" because of it's filter sound. I don't disagree Nicholas, particularly through a good pair of monitors or speakers (althou...
