Sure looks like it.

I had similar issues at one point.
The problem was that I had both midi in and midi out of the matriarch assigned to the same channel.
It was creating a "midi feedback loop".
Assigning the midi out to another channel fixed the problem.

Desperately need help to get my Matriarch working again.
I'm sure its a matter of "Resetting" ..... I just don't know what to do or who to ask.

HI. My Matriarch is "Frozen" after attempting to update to firmware 1.3 Using the new updater (1.1.0). Using Midi and USB didn't make a difference. Prior to 1.3, I would download the new firmware and used Brome Send SX to update the firmware without any issues. So, while I'm waiting for a ...

Seems that the problem was that I had the Midi in and out assigned to the same channel creating a "loop" or "feedback". Assigning the Midi in and out ports to different channels, solved the problem.

I seem to be having sequencer issues as well.
I`ve reloaded the recent firmware.1.23
It seems to be playing random notes .... not what I entered.
Also I can trigger the sequence by playing a note, but as soon as I release
the note, the sequence stops. Same with the arpegiater.
