Not sure if this helps, but I had to also turn 2.3 Arp/Seq MIDI Output to ON to get the MIDI notes from the Arp/Seq to go out through MIDI. The default is ON, but I had disabled it in the past. So, with 1.8 OFF, 2.5 OFF and 2.3 ON, you should be able to press PLAY on the Matriarch and the MIDI notes...
