I found the solution:
In "Global" menu, there is a submenu "Seq Options", which contains "MIDI Output". I needed to set this to "Keys"

Are you sure you didn't accidentally deactivate MIDI output in the settings menu?

Yes! I got my SubSequent 37 today and the light of the Arp started to burned a hole into my retina instantaneously. I put some electrical insulation tape on top of it. Funnily enough, even after two layers. the blinking light is still visible as clearly as the other LEDs Good to know the editor lets...
