Re: Matriarch - CV Out from the incoming Midi signal?

Hi Ralf, From what I can tell, Aftertouch works as you'd expect (the KB AT OUT patch point responds to MIDI aftertouch). And I think Mod Wheel CCs affect the Modulation / LFO amount, but not the MOD WHL OUT patch point. But unfortunately the rest (KB CV OUT, KB VEL OUT, etc.) don't do anything when ...

Re: Matriarch Midi-to-CV to possible?

Aftertouch seems to work properly (the CV output responds to MIDI Channel Aftertouch), but none of the others do (velocity, pitch, mod wheel). Hopefully this means that the others could be enabled with a firmware fix, but who knows what's actually going on inside. Aside from using Matriarch as a MID...

Re: Matriarch - staccato playing in paraphonic modes

The one thing that helps is turning on Paraphonic Unison mode, though that sounds a little weird if you're going between single-note and multi-note playing. You can also try sending email to Moog support. I did that back in November (and haven't heard back :( ) but I would think that they'll be more...

Re: Matriarch Velocity via MIDI

From what I've seen, aftertouch (KB AT OUT) is the only one that responds to MIDI. The mod wheel sort of responds (MIDI mod wheel CCs affect the Modulation section,, but don't affect the MOD WHL OUT CV). Velocity doesn't seem to affect anything. I emailed Moog support a while back to ask them about ...

Re: Matriarch LIN FM IN

FM-based synthesizers have all the oscillators (carriers and modulators) track the keyboard, so using OSC2 as the carrier and OSC1 as the modulator (OSC1 WAVE OUT -> OSC2 LIN FM) is the same basic idea. On the Matriarch, though, if you put a full-amplitude wave into a LIN FM input, it's way too much...

Re: Matriarch - Dual filter ‘tuning’

Hi Francis, My filters are usually in tune with the "spacing" knob very slightly to the left of 12 o'clock also. I've never tried calibrating my Matriarch, but I imagine that might help. Another trick if you only want to use one filter: you can just patch the output of VCF1 to the input of...

Re: Matriarch - MIDI not affecting some patch points

No, unfortunately I haven't heard back from Moog on this issue yet. It's strange, because the only other time I emailed them (about a different problem) I heard back within a day or so.

Anyway, maybe if more people let them know about this problem they'll start paying more attention.

Matriarch - MIDI not affecting some patch points

Hi everybody, I've noticed that my Matriarch responds inconsistently to the various types of control messages received from an external MIDI controller (in my case, my computer running Renoise). Here's what I've seen: - Channel Aftertouch works great: it affects the KB AT OUT patch point as expected...

Re: Matriarch - staccato playing in paraphonic modes

Thanks for the reply. Looking at the release notes, it seems like this is probably a side effect of this change in v1.2.0: - Fix for stuck envelopes (was due to retriggering faster than a certain minimum, easy to do in multi-trig mode). Unfortunately v1.2.0 also added the global settings over SysEx ...

Re: Matriarch - staccato playing in paraphonic modes

Just some clarification on how this behavior works: For the amp envelope, I'm setting A,D,R to 0, and S to maximum. I just discovered that when Unison mode is turned on, the second voice can be played staccato and it stays nice and short; it's only in non-Unison when the second voice lingers for abo...

Matriarch - staccato playing in paraphonic modes

Hi, I've noticed an odd behavior when playing very short notes on the keyboard. In unison mode, or in paraphonic when I only play one note at a time, if I play very staccato notes they come out sounding very short, as expected. But in paraphonic mode, if I'm holding down one note and play a second n...
