Re: Has Moog indicated how many Moog One's will be produced?
3000 units,. If our assumptions are valid, that is a fair amount and should cover the development and maintenance cost eventually. When I bought my MoogOne, a business insider that I will not name here estimated the development cost of the MoogOne was close to 5.000.000 USD, almost ruining Moog Inc....

VSTi's that emulate analog gear are simply boring. The Moog One is the opposite of being boring
Do you need it? Nobody can tell. Will you love it? Most probably yes.

Re: Final Analysis....
I want to add to @AlakaLazlo that using the Moog as controller in your studio will work just fine. He was mentioning the use as a central part of a MIDI studio , and yes, this is unfortunately not a good idea. The Moog One is still not really stable when it comes to MIDI input, especially on more co...

Re: MOOG ONE VS PTOPHET TEN AND OB8X
I own (nearly, as I got an early Waldorf Quantum) four of the synths in this comparison. And I think this chart is near to my experience. But I think the 3rd Wave got a special unique character, once you don't judge it as just a VA synth. And I like its filter character. Hehe, I just didn't want th...

I made a quick chart regarding the strengths and weaknesses of all newer synths I own.

Re: Is the Moog One able to create sounds that Xfer Serum can’t?
Late to the party but - hell yeah, definitely! It's of course also the other way round, but now that I own probably all (?) serious analog synths made since 2005 plus a few vintage ones AND I have my SSDs full with hundreds if not thousands of VSTi's: There are no VSTi's that claim to reproduce anal...

Re: MOOG ONE VS PTOPHET TEN AND OB8X
P6 and P10 are totally different from the Prophet Rev2. I never got on with the sound of the Rev 2 but really like the P6 and own a P10 and it sounds glorious. Yes, absolutely. The Rev2 16 sounds surprisingly close to the Oberheim OB-X8 in many cases, but nowhere near the P10 or P6. I was close to ...

Re: MOOG ONE VS PTOPHET TEN AND OB8X
Yes and no. I see people buying a new car each few years for 50k USD, which is permanently losing value - with every mile, with every day. Analog synths are stable in value. But of course, if you are running in debt to buy a synth, you should NOT do that. It is NOT necessary. No question synths are ...

Re: MOOG ONE VS PTOPHET TEN AND OB8X
...I would opt for the OBX8 over the P 10 being it’s in stereo, Like the way you think about voice count. I play large chord voicings poly chords being my background is in jazz. I should be able to play my jazz extensions with 8 voices. ... I hear you. And exactly in this case the OB-X8 will not su...

Re: MOOG ONE VS PTOPHET TEN AND OB8X
Owning all three, the definite best bang-for-the-buck is the Moog One by all means. Not only has it the best UI, the best FX section (ok, the other mentioned ones have none, but compared to ANY other synth), but also 48 OSCs with 2 filter types in 4 shapes + different noise types, ring mod etc. - ad...

Lower case characters
Forgive me,
but I'm to blind to find where I can switch the selected char set to lower case. I'm somewhat convinced it was there just hitting C#1 to toggle between upper and lower chars, but this is not working (anymore?).

Re: Moog One Review after several months
.....I just cannot imagine why anyone would not think this was the greatest synth ever...I have been working with synths I saw the MiniMoog back in 72. Then I was there when the original Prophet 5 was introduced at NAMM....I was there. I actually brought the first P5 into Nashville back in 77 or 78...

Mono and noise floor
Loading a monophonic presets switches all soundcards on, resulting in a well noticeable noisefloor. Toggling the MONO switch off and on again activates the "magic", resulting in about -10dB noisefloor. Is this a bug, that the routine of switching off cards is not invoked after loading a (m...

Re: System Calibration - Multimeter suggestions?
Thanks for the update! Is there any way to "cheat" my Moog One to balance the Main Outs? My right channel always had a lower voltage than the left one. Not too bad (measures about -1.5dB in RME TotalMix), but annoying. The problem is not present at the Sub Outs, and all has been calibrated...

Re: I finally got One!
Regarding my words about Luke Neptune presets... well, I must say that some of those presets have much more under the hood than is obvious from first sight. So, I stand corrected, these are awesome, too.
