Howard Jones played a synth through a Marshall guitar amp and cab miked up to get an cool synth/guitar sound on one of his 80's records I remember. That's one way to do it.

I liked all the pop tubes with synths in the early 70's and specifically McCartney and Wings and Floyds Dark Side of the Moon. Then I liked a lot of ELO sounds, but the clincher was the Styx 'Grand Illusion' album in 1977 and also Gary Wright's 'Dream Weaver' tune.

Styx used a Moog modular on ...

There's been a few sets sold recently on Ebay, the cheapest was $2300 but missing the window, etc. But the nice ones are going for between $2500 and now 3k. I think there's been 5 sets sold like this in the last couple months. The latest one just ended here:

They were manufactured by B.V. Eminent in Holland. The Solina was the European version, and Arp relabeld them for the US market.

The Synthesizer version is pretty rare. I had a chance to buy one once and I wish I did. I'd buy one right now if I saw one for sale.

Don't feel weird, I have 4!! Two early versions, two late. They do one thing great, and that's why I have them.

I'm in shock! I was going to bring up the set for sale at the link below, but they're gone. They were asking 5k!!! Looks like they have another set they're getting ready for sale. Here's your chance to blow 5k folks. This shop obviously spends a lot of time on this stuff, but their target market is ...

Moog Taurus I for $2750?

Yikes, there's a BIN price of $2,750 on Ebay! Makes the $1200 BIN I socred a couple months ago look unreal. And mine isn't modified like his.

What's up with the Model 205A? Were there more model numbers and what was the difference. Mine's a 205A and the serial number is 3005. The Ebay Taurus is ...

The only chance you'll ever see more poly analogs in the future with the quality we expect is if a small boutique outfit produces them in small numbers at outrageous prices. It may get to a point when this may occur. You do see this happening with modulars right now. Although the guitar amp market ...

You better believe it. That was the lowest price I ever saw. They were also as high as $500 or so. My first synth ever was a Juno 106 that I bought in 1986. I never did buy a DX7. It got old real quick playing it at the music store.

Beleive it or not, the first Moog I ever bought was the Taurus I ...

I remember seeing Prophet 5's going for $200 in the paper around 84 and thinking, who would want that? Use that $200 on a new DX7!! LOL.

Re: Very Accurate estimate of Andromeda and a View on Moog M

Andromeda is rather weak , I do not recommend it at all . It's ratings are at most 3 out of 10. Although it has neat twists to it , it does not come close to Omega 8 , 6 or even 4, or Cwejman Sound S1 MkII. There is nothing for the price that can beat these machines. Moog is nice , but one voice is ...

I know they used to use one, but this photo didn't look like the synth had enough depth like Odyssey does. I guess maybe it could be a grand illusion (pun intended), but it looks more like a typical long rectangled synth. And the OB-1 is too small anyways for it to be that. They did use an OB-1 live ...

I suppose we could talk about grasshopper biology too, but yeah, what does that place have to do with Moog?

Let's see, there's a Peter Cetera Forum, a Richard Marx Forum, a Richard Marx, George Michael, Bruce Hornsby, and Oasis Forums too. Yup, that's pure Moog alright. I think I'm gonna hurl. :)
