Re: Does the Sub Phatty have a softer side?
No, I don't own one. That's why I'm asking. I had to sell my Voyager a few months ago out of financial necessity. I'd like to pick up another Moog. I actually like the harsher, overdriven tone of the SP but before I commit to the purchase I want to know if it can do a wider range of sounds or if it'...

Re: Does the Sub Phatty have a softer side?
Hmmm...Maybe I'll just keep saving for another Voyager rather than trying to fit the SP into a box it wasn't intended to fit into.

Does the Sub Phatty have a softer side?
Most of the demos make it sound harsh and buzzy. Does it have a smoother, softer (Voyager-ish) side?

Re: Voyager quality problems - feedbacks wanted
I've owned three Voyagers with no physical/cosmetic defects. They've all been built rather well...like a fine piece of furniture. That said I don't understand how this is the fault of the dealer vs a few poorly built pieces slipping through Moog's QC cracks. Did the dealer build the uneven cabinet? ...

Re: Panic!
While I agree with Eric that it is most likely the keyscan board there is another possibility. I had the same dead keyscan board symptoms but it wasn't the keyscan board (which was replaced with no effect) but rather a faulty pitch bend circuit that was sending a constant very, very low voltage.

Re: Voyager XL!
I'm inclined to disagree considering you can buy a Performer, VX-351 and CP-251 and still have roughly $1500 left over for an assortment of 'Foogers or something like a Prophet 8 rack.derekmather wrote:Definitely people that dont have a voyager would get this over a regular voyager.

I don't have these particular files but there was another A/B test done between the Andromeda and Model D. The sound files for that are here: http://share.ovi.com/album/juno6.AndromedavsMini?count=50 If you can read German the article is here: http://www.amazona.de/?page=26&file=2&article_id...

Re: left-right outputs are not equal
The Filter Spacing control will move the balance around. They should not be 'equal' as there are differnt signals from the filter output left and right to make a stereo signal out of a mono signal. (at least that is my understanding) What he said. but it is analog after all. And what he said. My Vo...

Re: Performer cabinet colors and wheels
The Performers are ash just like the Old School and have been for a few years. They were made from oak and stained walnut several years ago. As far as cabinet color I had contacted Moog about this when I was trying to match a rack I was building to my Voyager. The stain color is called Gunstock (it'...

Re: ableton sequencing OldSchool
No. The only way to sequence your OS is with a MIDI/CV converter (software based like Volta or Silent Way or hardware like a Kenton) or a a hardware CV sequencer.

Re: A REAL Moog
Maybe it's time people stop fetishizing gear simply because someone's name is on it and started buying it because (more importantly) it's useful for creating music. The most talented artists will always find a way to put their own unique "signature" on their music, no matter what gear you...

Re: A REAL Moog
The Voyager, Little Phatty, Taurus III, and Moogerfoogers have the fingerprints of Bob Moog all over them. They're truly Moogish. At this point, though, any all-new instruments that the Moog Music company develops will be free of Bob Moog's direct influence (although he's certainly influenced the s...
