Have not done it myself as I don't have a 108M but there's no reason it shouldn't work. It's not likely to be perfectly accurate but might be enough for some uses.

The LFO display LED can be used as one half of a vactrol.

Depending on how it's sealed, you may be able to stain the stock parts without having to sand.

Long or short time setting affects the tone because of the clock rate and resulting nyquist frequency related roll off.

The MF-103 Phaser is a 12 stage phaser, but the first 6 stages are fixed to being modulated by a Triangle wave LFO. You can add another LFO to the last 6 stages via the sweep-in jack. It's not impossible to grab the LFO from a LED, whether using a LDR circuit or directly tapping the board. Maybe I'll have a look when mine ships in.

Try layering your Sub with a Rhodes voice by using MIDI control. A ROMpler will provide a more accurate reproduction of a Rhodes than a DX7 or Blofeld. Verify your AC wiring is not creating a ground loop -- make sure everything is plugged into the same outlet, check that the power cabling is arranged like a star network & not a ring network, and perhaps try a line conditioner or ground lift.
