Guitar Distortion Pedal

I put a distortion pedal of a guitar between the Etherwave Theremin and the amplifier.

The change was interesting, very different to the distortion of the guitar sound.

It did not sound distorted but the distortion amplifier changed the sound characteristic.

Best regards
Bernd

Hi Aaron,

I had better experiences in Germany.

I got the adapter for 230V and it was no problem. This is the most important thing. But this is the German one.

I think, if you have this, you need only an additional adaptor like travellors use it for other devises.

If you do not find a direct ...

Hi, Edmond,

I built the kit, too.
At the very beginning, I had some similar problems, but I did not adjust anything inside the theremin to solve them. M;y problems where outside.

1. where do you place it?

If you place it on a table, the table itselve is a kind of capacitor. It sould be dry and ...

My theremin showed the same behavior, after I colorized the case (I have the Theremin kit). I was very worried but after it dried for two days, it worked fully.

I use the Etherwave Theremin with an adapter in Germany, and it works well in the German 230 V/50 Hz environment. Greetings from Bernd

Hi,
what exactly do you mean with "pure sine wave"?

It is rather easy to get "almost" pure sine waves, however it is very difficult to get an exact one. How exact must it be?

Depending on the allowed tolerances, you can just use the filter built in in the theremin.

Hi,

did you remove the plugs before opening?

I checked the construction again.

In the bottom of the front board and the back board, there are screws, connecting them with the upper board. They are long, and you can remove them. I do not know exactly, where they used glue, because I have the kit ...

The Art of Playing the Theremin Die Kunst des Thereminspiels

Carolina Eyck wrote a book to learn playing the Theremin.
It is a kind of a beginners guide.

Carolina Eyck started to learn the theremin when she was very young (8 years, if I remember right) from Lydia Kavina. She also learned to play other instruments.

It teaches a method for playing the ...

What kind of sound does it make?

Does it change the pitch when you are moving?

Did you place it on the table or on any metallic surface? All metallic parts are a kind of condensor.

Metal tables, computers and other things may have influence.

Did you insert new batteries? In the right direction ...

If you have the same type as me, it is only necessary to remove the screws in the front and the back part of the top case (wooden covering).

But: you need special tools (a special screw driver) and may be you should have a manual to adjust the theremin. Otherwise, you make the things worse.

When ...
