I just placed my order for a Prophet 08, and will likely not sleep until it arrives! I think it's going to be a sweet compliment to my Voyager!
A sharper quality I think, with a bit more bite. Be nice to have some analog pads backing up the V-ger lead sounds! Anyone else own the two?
I'm interested to hear how you find using them together.

Hi.
Yes I own both a 08 and a Voyager AE. I must say I think the 08 is an awesome sizer, has a nice organic sound. I feel the oscillator detune and drift is more musically then the Voyager. On the Voyager the lock on hard then suddenly they are too much out of tune.
The envelopes on the 08 are a bit strange… first nothing happens then after value 100 everything happens. Here is the forum for all Sequential and DSI gear. http://www.prophet5.org/
I wish Moog would make a new polyphonic sizer.
Kind regards

Gearlist: Andromeda A6, Emu E4XT Ultra, Korg MS20, Minimoog Model D (incl.MIDI), Minimoog Voyager AE, Roland Jupiter-8 (MIDI), RE-301, Prophet~5 (Rev3.3 incl MIDI), Poly Evolver Keyboard, Pro~One, Prophet 08, Synthesizers.com Custom Studio-44
I have both and believe they complement each other nicely.
Many people around the 'net have mentioned the fact that the Prophet 8 is a pretty bright or clean sounding instrument and there is some truth to that. Because of this, its tone doesn't compete with the Voyager really but works really well With it in a mix.
Be sure to run it in stereo. The pan spread function can be really fun.

Actually, there seems to be quite a few forums for the P'08:Demokid wrote:Hi.

I have also noticed this behavior ... I just can't seem to get the inbetween values... I hope that this can be fixed with an OS update. Maybe an increased resolution can fix this?

Yep I have both too.. both rackmounts.
I'm a happy bunny, and they really do compliement each other well.
The Prophet 08 is capable of some really 'plastic' sounding things that are fantastic..
oh and it sounds great through the moog filter
I'm interested in sending CV from my newly arrived VX351 to the prophet CV in... I wonder if its compatible...

I don't see why not. I use my EP2 pedal with the P'08. Works well. Note that there are global and patch-level settings for the CV stuff on the P'08. And on top of that there are 2 settings for how the LPF reacts to CV. I tend to set it to the "half" setting. Check the manual for details.chombymook wrote:I'm interested in sending CV from my newly arrived VX351 to the prophet CV in... I wonder if its compatible...
