not sure what you mean, but let me make some observations.
- firstly the CV on the sub phatty's filter is always positive (unipolar, 0 +5V), unlike the slim which is -5/+5 (bipolar)
but most often this is not an issue, just turn the filter down a little, to offset it lower it. Sometime this is a pain, for example if you've tuned the filter and are playing it, then your modulations will move you off tune (high).
[update the filter responds very nicely to negative modulations, i've put -4.14V into it - fgc]
- but more practically, by inverting i think you would like to flip the shape of the modulation wave top to bottom, since the tri and pulse are symmetrical so you are done already, just wait a few micro seconds
, then the saw and ramp are exactly this, the one sweeps down and jumps up and the other sweeps up and jumps down.
Does this help?
- lastly bipolar (zero crossings) offsets are very important for pitch modulation, at audio rates, which will produce nice FM metallic/bell sounds.
