They should have sold it sooner. Now that the new 104's are coming out for $750, it doesn't make much sense to pay more than that so they're probably going to lose a few hundred dollars they could have made by waiting to sell.

Are both new 104's a limited production run?

From the Mac Music article, the SD is very limited at 250 units which compared to the original 104 should sell on Ebay for $2,000, and the Z is not limited in number.

OK, the 104 bid up to $910 and the reserve still wasn't met. That's still a very considerable profit at $910 and the seller could get one of the new 104s with money still in the bank. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the market long term for the 104s. I guess the same can be said about the Voyagers. It sounds like the signed AEs (which seems like a rip off to those that spent the extra money for the real SEs) will sell the highest in the future.
