So I have the 101 and dig the sounds I get from it but yesterday "wife" asked me to explain what self-oscillating was and why it happened. I know how to get it but can't explain what it is at all and so I realize my knowledge of what is really going on with the filter is limited.
Can someone clue me in so I can understand further? I'm not allowed to turn on the "one the makes all that noise" until I can explain it to her.
Thanks
Ezra

Filter resonance is feedback. Like a microphone on a PA, if you turn the resonance up high enough the filter feedback turns into a "self oscillating" pitch.

Thanks for the response.
That makes perfect sense.
