Future of Moog Music?

Post by MFenkner » Tue Aug 30, 2005 6:36 pm

Now that Robert Moog has sadly left this world, I wonder what the planned future is for the company Moog Music. Will they stay in business, will they develop new products (and what engineer will replace the Mighty Dr. Moog)? Possibly they've already considered this in a contigency plan, but I wonder what their future plans are. I hope that they at least continue to produce and support their current products until it is no longer profitable. An even greater hope is if they continue in the tradition of Dr. Moog, finding good engineers to develop new top-of-the-line, innovative products that combine the best of "old" analog synths with new digital controls.

Read about half way down the page.

Keep in mind that Bob didn't really have anything to do with several moog synthesizers. He left Moog Music in 1977. Off the top of my head, they came out with quite a few after he left....the Prodigy, the Source and the mighty Memorymoog. Those were all great! They were all based on Bob's ideas, but he didn't actually design them.
