A Pot Mapping idea for the next update...

Post by Solenoid » Sun Aug 22, 2010 7:10 pm

Hi everybody!

What if we could assign a cc number for each button, so, anytime we press a button twice (its light goes off) and we can control as many cc parameters as the buttons in each section are..

e.g.
Section: Filter (or any other section)
Current pot mapping function: We set a cc for the filter pot and if we press twice any of the filter buttons the filter knob controls the CC we have chose. If we press the same or any other button inside the filter section then the pot returns to its default cc selection mode.

My "idea": We set a cc for any button function we want, so when we press the "cutoff" twice for example, the pot will control a specific cc number we have set for "cutoff" button, but then, if we press resonance once, it deactivates pot mapping and the pot controls resonance and if we press it once again, the pot will control another specific cc parameter etc..

With this way, we can make a second "layer" of controllable parameters for each knob (like using a "shift" button), instead of having only 4 parameters available for mapping every time..

What do you think? Am i the only one who have thought this? Is it possible?
