Aftertouch

Post by Reggie T » Mon Jun 28, 2010 4:44 pm

I know Moog are known for keeping things up their sleeves, but it would be fantastic to know if there are plans to add aftertouch response to the LP via software update. I have a controller with aftertouch and it would be friggin sweet to do filter cutoff sweeps when I lay into the keys on the controller.

Throw us loyal Moogies a bone! ;)

Isn't there a way to route the aftertouch of your controller to the CC-number that corresponds to filter cutoff on the LP?

Not to my knowledge, but if someone knows...please speak up. ;)

I don't think the LP keybed has aftertouch sensors but I could be wrong.

Unlike the Voyager which uses a higher end Fatar, the LP is marketed at a slight lower end consumer market.

None of the sub-1300 usd synths from Korg, Roland, etc support aftertouch.

Have to reduce cost somewhere...

... AT for stuff like vibrato, trem, etc., could be cool. for filter sweeps, though, nothing beats an expression pedal hooked to the Filter CV... I had AT on my old Oberheim for years, and never really put it to good use... but that's just me.

There are software applications that take incoming MIDI CC data and outputs it as other CC. I haven't tried this myself but I guess that e.g. http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Pr ... teControl/ should do the job.

But the pedal idea seems easier! :)

All good advice folks. I'm already using the pedal idea with a MP-201. Just thought aftertouch would be fun. I'll look into Blue Cat.

Thanks guys!
