CC Values Wrong for OSC Octave

Post by _DemonDan_ » Thu Mar 04, 2010 4:56 pm

Hi Gang,

I was creating a video today showing how easy it is to assign remote MIDI
knobs and sliders to every parameter of the Little Phatty.

Everything worked perfectly except for the 16' Octave for Oscillators 1 & 2.

The manual shows the two parameters as:

OSC 1 OCTAVE: CC#74
Values: 0, 32, 48, 64

OSC 2 OCTAVE: CC#74
Values: 0, 32, 48, 64

In reality Values of 0 do nothing at all.

The actual value for the 16' Octave seems to be "16" for both Oscillators.

Good catch, Dan, and thanks for bringing it up here! I will make sure this gets corrected in the next User Manual update.

FWIW, I'd like all Moog gear owners to know that everyone who participates in the development of the User Manuals (myself, Steve, Cyril, Amos, Chris - even Mike Adams!) works very hard to insure that the information in the manuals is correct and accurate. Somehow, however, this particular detail got by all of us.

With apologies for any confusion this may have caused LP users...

Hi Greg,

A mere trivial detail, to be sure. In my opinion, Moog manuals have always been among the most
educational and enjoyable manuals to read.

The far more interesting thing is just how well the Phatty works with external MIDI CC information.
Having almost every possible parameter available in the palm of your hand at once (via the Korg
NanoKONTROL) is a blast!

I'll post when the finished video is on YouTube.
